Being deeply aware, self attuned and somatically present is not for the faint of heart (especially for my hunnies who have trauma backgrounds). When I started to really get it, what I what truth in my body - and consciously understood it - everything changed.

I had to leave my marriage because there was no other option any more. I couldn’t accept the way I was being treated and who I was in that dynamic. I had to change my life. I had to follow the call to grad school. I had to rewrite the story of what was possible for the rest of my life.

And holy f*%?! Was it awful and the most brutally honest and worst thing I’ve had to do ever. It certainly wasn’t what I wanted.. but damn did it feel right: and that’s the hard part.

Most people aren’t ready to give up the want for the truth.

That is the painful beautiful wild and liberating otherwise if the deep knowing.

6am this morning I had to be on the beach
My heart pulled me

@laurenetter.retreats you inspire me infinitely to be brave and share a cracked voice and squinty eyes.
