I’ve been bad at posting updates this summer but I needed the time away and now it feels so hard to get back into the habit x_x

I’m playing some shows this month you might wanna know about though, so here:

14_08 (tomorrow!) at @ivyhousenunhead for a special @greenmanfest warm up show with our ambient trio project @dorothy_at_sea

16_08 (this sunday!) at @thegeorgetavern for the Elliott Smith tribute show presented by @phase___magazine raising funds for @mindcharity

21_08 at @greenmanfest with Dorothy once again ~ 4.30pm @ Rising Stage

Debut solo album updates very soon, big brewing things. For now enjoy my bedroom wall, the river, 2/3 of Dorothy trying to replace me with my sampled voice, Elliott, eclipse, sunset from the train. taken in London, United Kingdom by @iamheka

We played at Teatro Romano in Fiesole on Sunday night for our biggest audience yet. Our first time being so far from each other on stage!! Poor Toma in his drum cage </3 But other than the separation anxiety we had a great time and it was very special. Kind of a homecoming show in a legendary place.

Big thanks to everyone who helped us out with gear and hospitality, couldn’t have done it without a big dose of generosity from family, friends, strangers, for which I feel very grateful. A joy to travel and play with these two dudes as well.

Love music love this band x x x

July 2nd at Total Refreshment Centre in Dalston:

the tongue is an eye is an event series celebrating hybridity through songwriting and performance.

Each artist is invited to perform songs in both English and their (m)other tongues.

Lara Laeverenz (Far) in German, Rachid Fakhre (Skydaddy) in French and Arabic, and Joel Burton + Evie Hylier-Ziegler bringing songs from various Jewish traditions across the diaspora.

The night will close with a full band heka performance, premiering Italian double single Tutto l’amore che ho dato to ha cercato.

the tongue is an eye_ returns to Total Refreshment Centre on 2nd of July!

A night celebrating hybridity through songwriting and performance, featuring performances in English and (m)other tongues by Lara Laeverenz aka Far (of @woommusic), Rachid Fakhre of @mrskydaddy and a joint performance by Joel Burton and Evie Hilyer-Ziegler.

We end the evening with a heka set + band: Toma Sapir on drums, Joel Burton on bass and electronics, and Evie Hilyer-Ziegler on viola.

I’ll be sharing some new songs in Italian (more on that later) and album sneak peeks.

These nights have been so fun and rewarding, can’t wait. Ticket link in bio ⭐️ come down! X taken in Total Refreshment Centre by @iamheka
