Last night, we hosted Mason’s 11th birthday—and his first-ever sleepover party. 🥹🎂

There were some nerves going into it (his and mine), but we navigated them together…and ultimately had the BEST time.

The boys played and goofed around downstairs, jumped onto the @meta VR headsets (yes, the ones I sell on QVC 😂), and ran outside for a game of Manhunt at dusk — which is something I loved doing as a kid. Watching them race around together, making the same kind of memories I still carry with me, was so special.

Then everyone piled into our home theater for the Minecraft movie and LOTS of popcorn 🍿…followed by teeth brushing, sleeping bags, and a very loose interpretation of “bedtime.” 😂

But my favorite part of the night may have been when Mason came into our bedroom once or twice because, in his words, “the energy is so wild out there.” He knew he needed a moment to step away, say a prayer, and ground himself.

I love that he has that insight at 11. And I love that he knows our bedroom is always a safe place to land when his energy or emotions feel like too much.

I had two choices yesterday: I could get completely wound up in the stress of hosting a house full of 11-year-old boys…or I could sit in absolute gratitude for the fact that we have a home that can hold all that beautiful chaos, a partner who supports it, and a heart that is genuinely filled by it. 🥹❤️

Everyone warns you that these years with your kids go by quickly.

But damn…the time really does be flying. 🥹

One perfect last summer weekend before school… 🥹✨

We took the train from Greenwich CT into Grand Central — because half the magic is getting there — and gave the boys the full New York City experience:

🍨A giant Frrrozen Hot Chocolate at Serendipity. 🦁The absolute MAGIC of The Lion King on Broadway. 🌳And an afternoon climbing rocks and playing in Central Park.

That last stop was Mason’s request. He spent the first five years of his life in NYC, and I think he was feeling a little nostalgic. So we wandered through the park while the boys played, and George and I reminisced about the hundreds of hours we spent there — running races, logging miles, and building the earliest version of this beautiful life together.

Then we boarded the train back, hopped into our car, and headed home to Pennsylvania. 🚙🏡

New York is where our story began. Pennsylvania is where it continues.
 And somehow, getting to have both feels like the greatest gift. ❤️

The most perfect final Saturday of summer with my favorite people.

As we round the corner on seven weeks of sleepaway camp, I’ve been thinking a lot about what this experience actually gives our kids.

I know sending your kids away for seven weeks can sound wild to some people. And if you’ve never experienced camp, I understand why.

But what you don’t see is the magic. ❤️

The magic of an analog childhood.
Of days without screens.
Of making new friends completely on your own.
Of trying things you’ve never tried before.
Of getting dirty, being weird, taking risks, failing, figuring it out, and trying again.

The magic of realizing, little by little: I can do this without my parents.

And yes, as a mom, that last part can tug at your heart a little. But isn’t that the whole point?

On Thursday, I’ll be waiting at that camp bus with my arms WIDE open.

And I have a feeling the two boys getting off it will be just a little different from the ones I put on seven weeks ago.

More independent. More confident. More themselves.

Yesterday was Visiting Day - just over the halfway point of my boys’ seven-week sleepaway camp.

I thought we’d spend the day catching up, maybe reassuring them, or nurturing a bit of homesickness.

Instead, I realized we were stepping into THEIR WORLD… and the magical little lives they’d built without us.

📻 Mason couldn’t wait to show us the camp radio station he brought back to life after it had been off the air for years.🐞Asher proudly showed us all the little corners of camp that have become his universe.

And then, just like that 🌲💨
…it was time to leave.

Predictably, there were a few tears amongst various families around camp.

Our boys?

“K, love you! See ya!” 🙋💚

If I’m honest, I think every parent’s heart has a tiny moment where it feels that bittersweet ache.

But it lasted about two seconds…

Because George and I walked away absolutely over the moon. 😊🌙❤️

Watching your kids thrive without you isn’t easy...

But it just might be one of the greatest gifts of parenting. 🥰✨

For nearly 15 years, this man has opened every car door for me, held umbrellas over my head, and asked, “Is there anything I can get for you, my queen?” every time he gets up from the couch.

He coached me through the births of both of our boys—including one 8-hour panic attack brought on by an epidural that made me feel claustrophobic. 😵‍💫

He’s been there for the daily snuggles and the big celebrations and the really hard stuff that inevitably comes if you stay married—and live life—long enough.

And right now, we’re in a funny little season.

For the first time ever, both of our boys are at sleepaway camp. For 7 weeks, it’s just us.

And in some ways? It’s magical.

We get to be 2012 Jamie + George again. Newlyweds. Best friends. A permanent sleepover with my favorite person.

Except… we really, really miss our kids. 😂😭

We spend half our romantic dinners wondering what they’re eating for breakfast. Whether they had fun on the pioneering trip. Whether they’re wearing sunscreen.

Because as much as we love being Jamie + George…

We really love being the four of us.

And this little intermission has reminded me that sometimes two things can be true at once.

You can be deeply grateful for the season you’re in and still miss the one that came before it.

You can enjoy the quiet and ache for the noise.

You can know your children are exactly where they’re supposed to be and still wish they were home.

But through every season of the last 15 years, there has been one constant:

His hand in mine.

The best choice I ever made was picking you to be the Daddy of this family. 🥰 #FathersDay

George, I know we say it to each other all the time, but I’ve gotta state it here: our life is a literal dream. ☺️☁️

Almost 15 years together, 10 of them as parents, and every day literally just gets better and better.

The way we sit together in disbelief at how awesome life is as a family. 😍

🍿Our movies nights with the boys, kettle corn freshly popped, all snuggled in together… the ultimate Friday night flex.

Ahh, how times have changed… 😂

But that’s the thing… our old Friday nights spent in the DJ booth of the hottest clubs 🪩 were fun too…

But this era of our life is a different level.

Watching you run this house with confidence & command… you steer the ship, fix the deck, and ride the waves. ⚓️

The way our boys look at you… you’re their hero, their mentor, their idol. 💙 Their best friend.

Mine too.

I love seeing your beautiful connection with all your kids, the grown-up ones too (hi guys!! 🙋‍♀️), and how we’re all integrated as one big happy family.

The way you care for the women in your life… from me to your mom… is something our boys watch and learn from… truly, one of the greatest gifts you will give them.

Quite simply: you’re the best Daddy in the world, and you’re my silver fox hot zaddy 🔥 and I wouldn’t want it any other way. ❤️‍🔥

Happy Father’s Day, my love. I’m so grateful for the partner, man, and Dad that you are.

Asher’s 7th birthday party took place yesterday, and we’re still over the moon 🌛… not quite down from the high yet!! 🥷🎉

Even though his actual birthday was in March, we waited for *just the right moment* to hold his birthday so we could have it at @dragon_gym_hq in Exton PA— a place very near and dear to our hearts.

Both of our boys practice martial arts at Dragon Gym, and they learn so much more than how to kick and punch… they learn discipline, accountability, and integrity. 🤍The best lessons life has to offer.

The party was 🍌🍌🍌 fun!!! All the kiddos participated and got to try their hand at martial arts… they each even broke a board with their bare hands! #NinjaRockstars

And most important of all, we got to celebrate Asher with all of his besties, not to mention a few of MY bestie mom-friends and QVC / HSN fam!! (👉🏼 swipe to see).

Dragon Gym makes everything magical, and I loved seeing the kids improve their confidence on the mat. I strongly encourage anyone in the Chester County area to come check it out — tell the owner, Lonnie Beck, that Jamie sent ya and he’ll hook you up with a special offer. 📣😉🥷❤️

14 years ago my life changed significantly. She Said Yes. We were already a team, already locked, already on a path of unthinkable joy. A higher power dropped this bundle of sunshine right in front of me, with a little help from @djtracyyoung . From the night we met it was in fact forever.

In the mornings, George and I do our prayers, affirmations, gratitude check-ins, and meditations.

We do a few readings from our daily reflections books, and each pick cards from our inspirational card decks.

Often times, Asher wakes up while we’re doing it, and comes downstairs to join us. 😊

It’s never too early to instill healthy habits around personal & spiritual growth.

Grateful to have a family that is aligned in our vibe. ✨☁️ We strive to lead by example, and it’s important to us to walk our walk and talk our talk. 👣

Since I was a kid my mom has always been there. Through all my shenanigans as a teenager and later on she didn't really flinch. Her priority was family. At 89 today we celebrate her love, her strength, and her faith. by @iamhess

Pretty surreal moment today 😎
