i’m mostly seeing people praise Miura for his art, which is truly beautiful and breathtaking, but personally i want to thank him for creating a character that has been so easy to relate to. as in surviving trauma and beating the odds and growing into someone that fights for what they love. witnessing growth like that, panel to panel...chapter after chapter, just puts your own life into perspective. i’m not fighting an actual demon inside me every single day that would rather kill everyone and leave me wallowing in self-hatred, but life can get a little rough sometimes. but to be able to have a character balance so much built up and suppressed trauma, to come out the other side ready to face absolutely anything in his path, is beyond inspiring. thank you for showing growth the way you did with Guts. thank you for creating a work that i will never forget and will forever gush over. thank you, Miura. by @iaminhellhelpme
