Photos from our Feb trip to Anacapa Island!

After having our trip canceled we waited in ancipation for February showers to pass so we could have this trip - and it was very worth it. One of the more alien places I've been to so it was hard to believe I was waking up in the closest national park to my apartment! It was the beginning of nesting season for the gulls so that had its hardships (it was loud and I was pooped on) but it was very cool seeing the once endangered brown pelican in large numbers (see photo 8). The views were spectacular, especially at Inspiration Point. On the boat rides we saw grey and humpback whales as well as hundreds of dolphins. Really a very special trip! taken in Anacapa Island, Channel Islands by @iamjaredberger

Creat to @sambrookeroberts for first pic! Got to enjoy a snow day in Angeles National Forest with Dani before leaving for McKinney for Thanksgiving. Not many photos taken in November / December so here are some of my favorite landscapes taken on experimental film (Lomography Turquoise and Purple) - Enjoy! by @iamjaredberger

Happy New Year! Here are the remainder of my October photos, many by my dad (@gbdazzled). After spending two nights in kings canyon we spent another two in Sequoia. What an awesome park! I'm sad I ran out of film before getting here but next time I'll have extra or back ups 😁. Haven't even finished my roll from November so I guess we'll have to be patient. taken in Sequoia National Park, California by @iamjaredberger

Visited Kings Canyon with my parents in their RV - had a blast! This was the first trip I've been on that I've ran out of film earlier than I wanted so my photos from Sequoia will be from my phone only. Kings Canyon was very cool and I think it would make for an excellent summer weekend trip. We went during the gov shutdown but still filled our time with scenic drives, great hikes, and delicious meals taken in Kings Canyon National Park by @iamjaredberger

Quick little camping trip at the beginning of October. Originally we planned on visiting Channel Islands at Anacapa Island however the Santa Ana winds picked up a little earlier than expected so we had a relaxing time at Chilao in Angeles National Forest 🏕️

The previous weekend we went to Vegas to see Paul McCartney and had a blast! Glad I finally was able to see him 😁 (no pictures taken) by @iamjaredberger

Had an amazing time backpacking into Kings Canyon. Stayed overnight at the beautiful onion valley campground and then got a early morning ascent into the mountains. With 40+ pounds over 11,000 feet I was certainly feeling the elevation but it was worth getting to Kings Canyon. Very scenic everywhere you would look - more than half the time I couldn't frame the photos I wanted since they were so massive. I spent most of my time in the Kearsarge Basin and then made my way back. Some other photos taken along the way are Mt Whitney behind Alabama Hills, Red Rock Canyon (CA), and the view from my apartment in Glendale taken in Kings Canyon National Park by @iamjaredberger

In September we kick backed in Palm Springs, we celebrated a never ending summer with a BBQ weekend after labor day, and I backpacked into Kings Canyon. More to come! First photo credit to @sambrookeroberts taken in Palm Springs, California by @iamjaredberger

Photos from my awesome four day trip to Yosemite! I love the photos I took, but so many other fantastic sights i had to pass over becuase I couldn't fit the view on the on 50mm lens. It was over 4th of July weekend so it was crazy packed, but we were able to hike away from the crowds a couple of times.

I took time off and spent a half day in the Wawona area, exploring areas I've never been to on the Chilnualna Falls Hike.

Got an early morning hike in and explored Little Yosemite Valley before meeting up with the rest of the camping crew. Scoped out some really awesome backcountry campgrounds. Then we visited Mirror Lake and had a safe but scary encounter with mama bear and cub.

Next day we did a crazy hike through Vernal Falls, Nevada Falls, Panorama Point, Illiouette Falls, Glacier Point, and down the 4-mile hike. Basically a loop through the western half of the southern part of the valley from and to the valley floor. Longer hike are definitely the way to experience Yosemite, it was unbelievably cool to watch the scenery change with every switchback.

The next day we kept it light and toured the valley floor before heading back to the real world. Can't wait to revisit! Hopefully on a wilderness backpacking trip!

Remainder of June photos from trip to Mt Chilao, Criterion Mobile Visit, and fun pool days. Also some photos from my recent trip to Yosemite! Most of those photos are vertical (typical I feel for Yosemite) so they'll be posted later.
