We got to dedicate our son Jaden past Sunday.

We want to dedicate Jaden because we know that all of our kids ultimately belong to God, and we want to commit ourselves to raising Jaden to know, love, and follow Jesus. We prayed for this little guy for almost nine years, and like Hannah in the Bible says in 1 Samuel 1:27, “I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him.” Jaden’s name means “God has heard,” and his life is such a tangible reminder of God’s faithfulness to our family. We pray that as he grows, he will know that same faithful God for himself and use his life to love others and make Jesus known.

September 24 has always been a special day for our family. On September 24, 1992, we moved here from Korea. Today marks 34 years.

Looking back, I’m so grateful my parents took that leap. It wasn’t easy. My dad wanted to move back four or five times in our first three years here! But they stayed, and they gave us a chance to build a life here.

I still remember some of my first impressions as a kid.

First, there were cars everywhere. I’d seen American Westerns, so I honestly thought people rode horses here. I was a little disappointed.

Second, school felt like a whole new world. I was learning English and trying to understand what everyone was saying, while also figuring out how to fit in.

Third, sports helped me connect with people. Even when I didn’t have the words, I could join a game. That gave me a way to make friends and feel like I belonged.

At 10, I didn’t understand what my parents were giving up or how much courage it took to start over. Thirty-four years later, I’m still grateful they did. Mom and Dad, thank you.

Congratulations to Rush White on winning Western Regionals last weekend! 🏐🏆

Going into the tournament, Leah’s motto was “character over wins.” Good plays and tough plays are both part of the game. You won’t execute every touch perfectly, and when a play doesn’t go your way, you reset and get ready for the next point.

Volleyball is such a team sport. All six players on the court need each other. It reminds me of 1 Corinthians 12:21: the eye can’t tell the hand, “I don’t need you,” and the head can’t say that to the feet.

Leah’s learning that as a setter. It’s an important role that doesn’t always get the spotlight, but she helps bring the whole offense together. Watching her grow into that responsibility, support her teammates, and keep moving after a tough play has been pretty special.

I love watching her become a better athlete, but even more, I love watching the person she’s becoming on and off the court. I think it’s starting to click….little by little. 😂❤️ taken in El Dorado Hills, California by @iamjohnsuh

A surprise night for our sweet Casey! 🎶✨

She absolutely loves Benson Boone, so when we heard he was coming to Sacramento, we knew we had to surprise her. The original show was canceled, so we had to call an audible—but thankfully, it was rescheduled and everything worked out!

Watching Casey completely mesmerized as she sang along to every song was something we’ll never forget. She even cried during “In the Stars” because it brought back memories of our dog, Toby, who passed away around the time the song came out. It was such a sweet and emotional moment. ❤️🐾

Benson Boone is an incredible talent, and despite being such a huge artist, he came across as humble, grateful, and genuinely down-to-earth.

A few days at the UC Davis Volleyball Skills Camp was so much more than just volleyball.

The girls spent the week learning the game from an incredible coaching staff and players, but they also walked away with lessons that go far beyond the court—communication, teamwork, recovery, what it’s like to be a student-athlete, the recruiting process, life on a college campus, and what it takes to compete at the next level.

Experiences like this help young athletes grow not only as volleyball players, but as confident young women. I’m so thankful they had the opportunity to learn from such an amazing program.

A huge thank you to the UC Davis coaches, players, and staff for investing in the next generation. Your passion for the game and your willingness to share your knowledge made this an unforgettable experience.

Wishing the Aggies the very best this season—we’ll definitely be cheering you on!

One of the best parts about living in El Dorado County is having Lake Tahoe right in our backyard. While most people count down the days until ski season, I’ll take summer every time. I know I might be in the minority, but I’d choose mountain biking over snowboarding any day.

This past weekend I finally got back on the trails since the Motherlode Epic. After dealing with all those cramps during the race, I was honestly a little gun-shy. But getting back out there was exactly what I needed.

We rode Corral to Armstrong, and what an incredible trail. The singletrack was in amazing shape, the climb was worth it, and the descent was an absolute blast. If you’re looking for a Tahoe ride, I can’t recommend this one enough.

Sometimes the best way to get your confidence back is to get back on the bike. 🚵‍♂️🌲⛰️
