03/03/2022, 11:45pm - Jevin & I cheered loudly at Abhinaya Theatre in Changanassery as 'ഒരു അമൽ നീരദ് പടം' displayed onscreen with "Be Notorious" playing in the background. Little did I know then that years later I'd have the chance to post about 'മറ്റൊരു അമൽ നീരദ് പടം'.

Fast forward 3 months, Jevin forwards me Amal sir's IG post, urging me to apply as an AD. I had zero confidence & almost scoffed at the idea, but his adamant persuasion made me apply. Many moons later, as fate would have it, there I was on a cold, rainy night, standing on Smart City Road for Day 1 of the shoot. A shoot that would go on to be hectic, stressful, and tiring, yet incredibly gratifying. A shoot that would foster a special camaraderie between Vishnu, Amal, Akhil, Sambu, Aslam, Abhi & me. I miss our daily commutes to the location, reading out scenes, planning, cracking jokes, & jamming to songs. I know that Amal & Vishnu miss my bedtime stories, & Abhi misses having me behind on his Ntorq😂

I must mention the two guiding lights in Siju chettan, & Ajithettan - the best associates you could ask for. And our talented yet mischievous spot editor, Pappan, who always had our backs (cause who else could we depend on to see the previous day's footage 😂). To Manu chettan, Josephettan, Rose Chechi, Sumeshettan, Ratheeshettan, Arjun, Daris, Gio, Arunettan, Neethu, Ajeeshettan, Hasif, Jithu & everybody else – I learned a ton & enjoyed every moment with all of you.

And finally, THE @amalneerad_official - words cannot express my deep gratitude for the opportunity of a lifetime. Your passion & fire, even during health issues & tough times, were truly inspirational. Watching you stage scenes, direct actors, & perfect every frame was a remarkable experience for a nobody like me. Even listening to your old shoot stories at your office is something that I cherish to this day. The experiences, memories, & lessons learned will always be close to my heart. It's an absolute honor & privilege to work as your assistant director.

1997-ഇൽ അപ്പനും അമ്മയും കല്യാണം കഴിഞ്ഞ് ആദ്യമായി പോയി കണ്ട പടമായിരുന്നു അനിയത്തിപ്രാവ്. അവർ സുധിയെ സ്ക്രീനിലൂടെയാണ് കണ്ടതെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ റോയിച്ചനെ കണ്ടത് നേരിട്ടാണ് 😌

I remember not being able to feel my hands at this point.

I forgot to pack my gloves… or at least that’s what I thought. Found them on the last day 🫠🫠

As always, you find lost things only when you don’t need them anymore….
