It still feels unreal that my mom is no longer here with us. As life moves forward, we don’t “get over” losing her—we get through it by remembering who she was and how blessed we were to have her.

Mother. Mom. Mama. Mommy. Growing up, you don’t always realize the weight of that word. For me, my mom was the one who saw me deeper than anyone, knew me even better than I knew myself, and was always a safe place to land.

Today is her birthday. I’ll celebrate with her favorite Mexican food and reflect on the love she gave and the honor it is to be her daughter. Terre and I miss you so much, Mom. There isn’t a day I don’t wish you were here.

I am grateful to be the daughter of Gloria Jean Gibson. I will forever speak her name, carry her legacy, and live out the love and grace she gave us all.

Happy Heavenly Birthday, Mom. 💐❤️ by @iamkaiapineda

Life is filled with moments you plan for and others that you are not prepared for. In 2007, my first husband & best friend passed away. If you really know me, I NEVER thought I would be married again because God had blessed me with an extraordinary man and marriage. I was young and assumed I had my one love and I would continue to pursue the things God had for me and live out my days single. Despite my thinking, I would meet a man who was a widower. We grew as friends and over time our friendship blossomed into a deep love and respect for one another. What was truly special was we each never felt we had to hide our love for our previous spouses, or that we could not share their importance and place in our hearts.

At the time of us hanging out, I tried to set him up with other friends of mine (You Know Who You Are 😂🤣). Little did I know God had another plan.

Now, today, on August 30th, we are celebrating our “SWEET 16!” It has been an honor to live life with @alexpineda5913 . I’ve been blessed to be loved and seen in ways that move me, challenge me, and encourage me. I look at my life and daily I am in of God’s goodness and love towards me. I see God in the eyes of my husband and I am grateful he chose me 16 years ago and continues to choose me everyday.

Alejandro, thank you for all of the love and joy our union brings. I look forward to this SWEET SEASON and all God has in store for us.

Happy Anniversary to us! by @iamkaiapineda

Martha’s Vineyard, just a few weeks ago, became an unexpected blessing from God. I wasn’t scheduled to cook or sing, but God had something different in mind. “The Blessing” has grown to be a special song for our family, and that day, God used it—along with @israelhoughton, my new big brother @tommylsims, their amazing keyboardist, and myself—to pour out a blessing on everyone at @fawnweaver and @keithwvr’s home. Whatever we do, God will always be glorified. #UnexpectedBlessings #UnshakeableKingdom #TheBlessing by @iamkaiapineda

A voice crying in the wilderness: “Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.” Isaiah 40:3. There is a call I cannot ignore. And neither should we. “Prepare the way of the Lord” is not just a call to John the Baptist. It is a call to the Bride to make herself ready.

The hour has come when we can no longer remain silent. We cannot shrink back. We must lift our voices and proclaim the name above every name, Yeshua, Jesus the Christ. If we are going to prepare the way for His return, we must first prepare our lives for His return.

This is more than proclamation. It’s consecration. Repentance. Holiness. Wholehearted devotion. The King will come and His bride must make herself ready.

So today I stand as a herald of the good news. And until my final breath, I will never stop declaring, Jesus Christ is Lord. Maranatha. Come, Lord Jesus, come! #PrepareTheWay #Maranatha #TheBrideOfChrist #JesusIsLord #Yeshua UnshakeableKingdom by @iamkaiapineda

Last night, I had the honor of closing out the @creativesoffaith prayer call. So profound. God spoke. He moved. There was breakthrough, healing, and so much love in the room. What @giapeppers has stewarded is a space where God meets his children and sets hearts on fire again. Still in awe. @tyheadlee @imerickrobinson @gavin.peppers @nakolewatson you all blessed me deeply. #CreativesofFaith #unshakeablekingdom #PrayerEncounter by @iamkaiapineda

For years I have wanted to go back to school, yet I did not know how I would incorporate it into my already full schedule. I love learning, and getting closer to my academic goals was something I knew one day I would be able to achieve.

Last Friday, on my mother’s birthday, I received my acceptance letter into a Master’s program in Biblical Studies and Theology. I was so excited—and then the nerves set in. 😂

Over the years, I have been blessed to teach across the U.S. and abroad. I’ve been a guest lecturer at a Christian college in NYC, taught in ministry settings, trained leaders, and spent countless hours studying and engaging with others about the Word of God. Teaching has always been one of the places where I feel most alive.

Years ago, I attended Bible college, and I knew then that my education would not stop there. Life took me through ministry, music, leadership, marriage, loss, building, serving, and so many unexpected seasons. But the plan God showed me all those years ago never left me.

And now, I get to continue it.

There is something especially meaningful about receiving that acceptance on my mother’s birthday. I wish I could call her and tell her, but somehow the timing felt like a beautiful reminder that the things planted in us years ago can still come to fruition, even when the journey looks different than we imagined.

I started school on Monday, and last night was my first class. So here I am back in school, reading, studying, writing papers, attending classes, and stretching myself academically,

But more than anything, I am grateful.

I’m grateful that it’s not too late.
I’m grateful that God’s plan doesn’t have an expiration date.
I’m grateful that God allows us to keep growing.
And I’m grateful that what I have taught for years, I now have another opportunity to study even deeper.

This isn’t a departure from what I’ve been doing. It feels like another piece of what God showed me a long time ago finally falling into place.

The Master’s degree journey is officially underway. ❤️📚 #UnshakeableKingdom #StudentLife #LetsGo by @iamkaiapineda

I want to be someone who bears fruit that lasts.

Like Jesus, who came into the world to save the souls of humanity so that we might choose Him.

What always blows my mind is that God chose us first.

Before you were in your mother’s womb, He knew you. He chose you to be you before you even knew yourself. He chose you to bear His image and to be like Him.

With all of our flaws and imperfections, a perfect God chose an imperfect people to love—and ultimately, to save us from ourselves.

And more than that, He chose you for something big, extraordinary, and special.

Uniquely crafted by the Master Himself, you are a masterpiece.

So when life makes you feel disqualified, you’re not.

When people doubt your abilities, don’t you join them.

And when people discredit how wonderful you are, remember this:

You were chosen.

So bear fruit.

Godly fruit.

Fruit that will remain. 🌱

“I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain.”

Let me tell you… There are moments in life you don’t want to miss! Sometimes they are unexpected encounters where you find yourself being ministered to in a way that speaks to places you’ve felt deeply. This morning was such a moment. @stylistjbolin welcomed everyone with warmth, beauty, and honesty as 60 of us got to hear his heart and the journey that led him to today. As we loved what had been, we were introduced to God’s design. We got to meet “The Architect” and “THE HOUSE OF BOLIN!” It was a blessing to once again watch vision from God being followed and shared boldly. I’m grateful to have been in the room. @stylistjbolin thank you sir! by @iamkaiapineda

*God will carry what you cast. He cares for you.

"Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved." Psalm 55:22

Often we are carrying far too much. More often than not, we're carrying things that were never ours to carry in the first place.

When I think of a fisherman, I picture him going out into the deep waters. He prepares his hook or his net, and then he casts it as far as he can. But here's what stands out to me: he has to release before he can receive. He cannot hold onto the net and expect a catch at the same time.

The Hebrew word for "cast" in Psalm 55:22 carries the idea of throwing, hurling, or completely placing something onto another. It is an intentional transfer. God isn't asking you to manage your burdens better, He's inviting you to give them to Him.

What are you still gripping that He has already asked you to release?

Your fear.
Your disappointment.
Your unanswered prayers.
The pressure to figure everything out.
Even the things you love most.

Casting your cares on Him is a gift because it reminds us that we were never designed to carry what only God can sustain.

I also wonder how many of the things we're praying for are waiting on the other side of our surrender. Sometimes the greatest obstacle isn't God's willingness to move—it's our unwillingness to let go.

Today, release what has been weighing you down.

God will carry what you cast.
He cares for you. #UnshakeableKingdom #CastYourCares #ForTheBride by @iamkaiapineda
