✨ A Night of Magic Gala ✨

What an honor it was to be @momentofmagicfoundation’s guest at their annual @anightofmagic gala and learned even more about the incredible work this organization is doing for medically vulnerable children and their families 🎗️

A Moment of Magic brings joy, imagination, connection, and support to children during some of the most difficult moments of their lives — reminding them that even through hospital stays and treatments, they still deserve the chance to simply be kids.

It was such an emotional but deeply impactful night. Seeing photos of these young children with cancer, hearing the stories of when their parents were told the news that their child has cancer. It was hard not to get emotional. And as someone who has publicly shared my own cancer diagnosis, nothing compares to hearing and seeing these children who are so young deal with treatment and surgeries and the emotional toll that comes along with a cancer journey while being so young to not understand what is happening or why they can’t go outside and be kids.

We had the opportunity to hear from @doctor.disney, @kyleelauren (the foundations founder) and @gstar01 a mother of a young childhood cancer survivor talk about gap in adolescent care and how there’s so much more than needs to be done for children’s facing these challenges 🫶🏻

It was such a beautiful night celebrating their mission, the people behind it, and all of the families whose lives they continue to touch.

Had such a wonderful time today at @monmouthmedical’s Play 4 Pink 🎗️

It is always such an honor and privilege to attend this luncheon as I was their first grateful patient speaker in 2019 following my treatment for triple negative breast cancer

And this year was no exception, alongside with my survivor friends @maggiematters & @avaschefflerlarson, we heard from a SEVEN year triple negative breast cancer survivor!!

Not only did this years speaker have TNBC but Emilee Carton also was stage 3C and continues to thrive 7 years later 👏

Thank you Monmouth Medical Center for putting on such an incredible program today but I think this years may have been the best yet!

A Night of Magic is about bringing together people who believe that care can be more human, more hopeful, and more connected. On September 25, that community will fill the room. ✨

Some people turn hard seasons into something that makes the road easier for the person behind them.

That is exactly what Kelly Thomas (@iamkellythomas) has done.

After facing triple negative breast cancer herself, Kelly created @tnbc_thrivers to build the kind of community, visibility, and hope she wanted to see more of during treatment. Her work centers on making sure people navigating cancer feel less isolated and more connected to others who understand what they are carrying.

This weekend I got to do something I’ve never done before, promote an independent film and join the directors on a Q&A panel! 🎬

@paperflowersmovie is a movie based on a true story of an Indian American boy named Shalin Shah that gets diagnosed with an aggressive cancer (synovial sarcoma). His diagnosis then inspires him to live life and embrace everyday with gratitude, purpose and love.

He would then go to write an article that gets published in @huffpost titled, “Thank you, cancer,” describing what cancer had taught him about living and is the official hashtag of the movie.

The movie was so beautiful and as a cancer survivor myself, I related to SO many scenes that Shalin was portrayed in. It is emotional, it’s raw and real. I brought my husband and my mother with me to attend Saturday nights event and even they felt they were reliving what it means to be a cancer caregiver.

The directors Q&A panel was something so special, thank you Mahesh & Santosh for having me be part of this incredible movie event and thank you to producer, Asit for your support and kind words!

My cancer thriver heart is so full 🎥💕
