Did my first pitch/ demo event for @everyvoiceinc today closing out tech week in Chicago. It was epic! When we’re emotionally unprepared for intense moments, a few seconds of poor judgment can create consequences that last a lifetime. Lives have been lost, families have been broken, and futures have been erased because someone felt they had something to prove. Strength isn’t always found in standing your ground. Sometimes it’s found in walking away, controlling your emotions, and refusing to let your ego make permanent decisions in temporary situations. 7 years ago today, I remember scrambling around making sure I had everything together, talking to @dr.joshuajames about the ceremony plans on the roof top it was supposed to rain 🌧️ that day but God! With all that craziness going on I remember one distinct question I asked myself, are we ready? Now 7 years later I can answer we weren’t just ready we were willing. Willing to wait, willing to parent now 3 beautiful children, willing to change, willing to push through, willing to stay. So today I celebrate us Happy 7year anniversary.
