This morning, I spotted my friend Khaliah, a celebrity stylist, carrying her usual fabulous essentials. Then I saw the message on one of her bags and laughed out loud:

“YOU CAN’T DO EPIC SHIT WITH BASIC PEOPLE.”

She’s right. Big visions need people who can see them, believe in them, and help bring them to life. The vision has to match.

Thursday, September 10, 2026, fashion’s tastemakers poured into New York, each carrying their own signature style into the front rows, as Karl Kani’s team was preparing to debut select pieces from his new collection. The Godfather of Urban Couture drew a crowd of celebrities, fashion insiders, and press who flooded the Art Hearts Fashion Show, one of New York’s most prestigious runway productions. Leading the charge behind the scenes was 18 year old stylist Miyla Michelle Johnson, making her NYFW debut as Kani’s lead stylist.
