USHER: THE LAS VEGAS RESIDENCY X IMMERSIVE THEATER
.
Wow! It's been 418 days since I've posted on Instagram!
.
I'm excited to share that for the last two months I've been working as the Associate Director/Resident Director for Backstory Pass, a VIP immersive theater experience pre-show for Usher: The Las Vegas Residency at Caesars Entertainment Inc.
This project is a groundbreaking work of site-specific, immersive theater: never-before has an undertaking of this kind taken place below the Colosseum in the hallways walked by legends like Celine Dion, Elton John, and Mariah Carey.
.
It has been a tremendous career highlight to bring forth work with a world-class team to present the creative inspirations of this eight-time Grammy award-winning artist and mega-talent to dedicated fans and to further reimagine what branded experiences can be with an innovative company like Rémy Martin. #teamupforexcellence
Special thanks to the NYC-based OTBA team, and Las Vegas-based powerhouses Allegra Libonati, Troy Heard, and Brett Alters for bringing me on board. It is made even more special to work with some of my closest friends Jason Nious and Jillian Austin and to meet and collaborate with new-to-me musicians, dancers, and performers including vets of Le Reve, Cirque de Soleil and immersive nightlife experiences like Rose Rabbit Lie.
.
After this, my slate is open to new opportunities and I'd love to hear about collaborating with you or someone you know in film/tv/theater/live entertainment industry! Also, keep an eye out, I'll be teaching FREE performance workshops starting next week to record for posterity and professional development.
.
Tickets are available through Ticketmaster through Aug 14th.
.
(And yes, you might just run into Usher himself 😉) by @iammaythinee

Listen up non-partisan voters. Now’s the time to beat this party hacks that have broken our trust time and time again. We’re in a real fight. We have the advantage of being ready for change and the willingness to MAKE that change happen. Here’s how:

*I wasn't able to stitch Ernest Hemmings original video, but you can watch it @tstmrkt. Please reach out to Robin @robinslonina with helpful info if you are a local who has contacts within the justice system/Metro who could help Jimmy. Thank you.

FROM ROBIN SLONINA:

My husband:
James Slonina

He has been held at the City Detention Center:
3300 Stewart Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89101
since midnight last night without being processed yet.

He was attending a Fallout Fringe Theater production at Cheapshot on Fremont and 6th Street and was walking back to our gallery/studio (Slonina ARTSpace) on the corner of 9th and Fremont.

He was on FaceTime with me since he was a little freaked out that there was tear gas behind him and that he was walking away from a protest, with police cars everywhere.

All of a sudden a SWAT team rushed him, which I witnessed on our FaceTime call before the phone hit the ground. He then had his hands ziptied behind his back.

He tried to explain that he was steps from his doorway, he even had his keys in his hand, and his last name is written on the door. He also could have shown his theater ticket from the show he just came from down the street. No one would listen and he was arrested anyway.

He was able to call me from the holding cell and says there are hundreds of people in process and he’s afraid he might not get out for another 24 hours. He will be missing work. He is a lead character with Cirque du Soleil’s Mystere here in Las Vegas.

He is a US citizen, born in Chicago and has no criminal record. by @iammaythinee

Yesterday was my third Mother's Day without my mom, and the hurt feels worse this year... In spite of myself, I'm reminded all the time that grief moves in waves, that I'm not the only one who misses her, and I am taking step after imperfect step to hold on and to honor her.
