Finally, the moment I've been dreaming about for so long has arrived! I officially convocated from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) with my BSc in Sociology during the 56th Convocation Ceremonies. What was supposed to be a 4-year journey turned into 6 incredible, challenging, and transformative years—and looking back, I wouldn't change a single thing.
Those extra two years tested my patience, built my resilience, and taught me lessons no textbook ever could. There were late-night readings in the library, moments of doubt when deadlines felt impossible, financial struggles, personal setbacks, and times when I questioned if I'd ever make it across that stage. But every obstacle became a stepping stone. I learned the true meaning of grit, the power of community, and how sociology isn't just a course—it's a lens that helped me understand society, people, and even myself in deeper ways.
UNILAG gave me more than a degree; it gave me lifelong friends who became family, lecturers who believed in me even when I didn't, and memories I'll carry forever—from faculty events and campus vibes to those quiet moments of reflection on the lawns. To my amazing family who supported me through every high and low, my lecturers in the Department of Sociology who challenged and inspired me, my friends who stayed up with me, prayed with me, and celebrated every small win—thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your belief kept me going when quitting felt easier.

Today, as I wear this gown and get this certificate, I feel an overwhelming sense of pride, relief, and pure joy. The extra time wasn't a delay; it was preparation. It shaped me into someone stronger, wiser, and more determined. Every extra step was worth it—because it led me here, to this victory.

Here's to closing one chapter with gratitude and opening the next with bold dreams. The world is waiting, and I'm ready! Who's with me? 🚀

🌟 One Week Out, and I'm Still Processing It All 🌟
It’s been exactly one week since I signed out from university, and wow, what a whirlwind of emotions! 🎓✨ I can still feel the weight of that final pen stroke on the clearance form, the bittersweet mix of relief, joy, and a little bit of “what’s next?” swirling in my heart. This moment I dreamed about for years—walking out of those lecture halls for the last time as a student—has finally come, and I’m still soaking it all in.
Looking back, this journey wasn’t just about late-night study sessions, group projects, or racing to meet deadlines (though there were plenty of those! 😅). It was about the people who became my family, the lessons that shaped me, and the countless moments of growth that I’ll carry forever. From the nervous excitement of my first day to the tearful hugs on signing-out day, every step felt like a chapter written by God’s grace.
I’m beyond grateful to God for His unending faithfulness. 🙏🏾 Through every challenge, every sleepless night, every moment I doubted myself, He was there, guiding me, giving me strength, and reminding me that His plans are always greater than my fears. This degree isn’t just a piece of paper—it’s a testimony of His goodness and provision in my life.
To my family, friends, and lecturers who cheered me on, prayed for me, and believed in me even when I wasn’t sure I could keep going—thank you. Your love and support carried me through. To my classmates, we did it! 🎉 We laughed, we cried, we stressed, but we made it, and I’m so proud to have shared this journey with you.
As I step into this new season, I’m excited, a little nervous, but mostly grateful. Here’s to trusting God for what’s ahead, chasing dreams, and embracing every new adventure. 💫
