SENIOR SPOTLIGHT | KINGSTON BLACKBURN @kingstononethirteen @iamraylo @coachfranckc @morethanthatcoach @coach__diggs Our next Senior Spotlight belongs to Kingston Blackburn, a CodeRVA Regional High School graduate whose impact on The Speed Team RVA goes well beyond his performances in the 400 meters. Kingston brings personality, intelligence, humor, authenticity, and a genuine connection to his teammates. His favorite Speed Team memory is our team car wash, a fitting choice for an athlete who values the relationships and experiences surrounding the sport just as much as competition. Kingston now heads to Virginia Union University, where he plans to study Physics/Engineering and pursue his passion for understanding how things work, building things, and finding ways to make them better. He continues his father and grandfather’s legacy following in their foot steps as a VUU student-athlete. He describes The Speed Team as “more than a track team” and “a step above the rest.” His advice to younger athletes captures exactly what he brings to our environment: take the work seriously, but never lose who you are. • CodeRVA Regional High School • Virginia Union University • Intended Study: Physics/Engineering • GPA: 3.4 • National Honor Society • Dual Enrollment Student • 400m PR: 51.30 • Favorite Event: 400m • Favorite Speed Team Memory: Team Car Wash • Greatest Athletic Accomplishment: Growing and improving alongside his 4x400 teammates • Advice: Be serious and ready to work, but keep your personality and stay comfortable being yourself. • Special Thanks: His family, East End Lightning coaches, Coach Caiya & himself Kingston, continue being authentically you while attacking every opportunity ahead. We’re excited to watch you build your next chapter at Virginia Union. #SpeedTeamRVA #RaceToHigherEducation #VirginiaUnionUniversity #VUU by @iamraylo
