Yesterday was a beautiful, love-filled afternoon of fellowship, remembrance, storytelling, and healing at The Unbroken Monologues.

We honored our babies, made room for our grief, celebrated our love, and reminded one another that healing doesn't mean forgetting.

So grateful to Chevelle, her Pastor and First Lady, the organizers, and every mother who courageously shared her story.

Our babies are forever loved, our stories matter, and none of us should have to grieve alone.

Sometimes the greatest return on an investment isn't immediate 💜

In 2024, I was accepted into @fsc.first 0 to 100 Small Business Accelerator Program, supported by @mandt_bank . Eight weeks of learning, growing, and being challenged to think bigger. I walked away with FIRST PLACE in the pitch competition and a $5,000 award for @_bornintosilence

But the biggest win wasn't the competition. It was the shift in my mindset.

That experience challenged me to move from simply managing a nonprofit to intentionally building a sustainable organization.

Now, over two years later, I'm leading with greater confidence, strengthening our Board, building infrastructure, and making more strategic decisions about our future.

A huge THANK YOU to FSC First, Yakita Wilkinson, Beverly Jones, Dawn Medley, and the entire team for investing in entrepreneurs like me, and to my coach,Tisa Clark, whose continued guidance has been invaluable!

The pitch competition was a milestone. The investment in my leadership continues to pay dividends.

I'm proud to serve on the Advisory Board of the Black Motherhood Project, an initiative of the National Center for Children and Families (NCCF) and the Black Physicians & Healthcare Network @bphn_moco.

We're bringing the village together on November 7th for a FREE Community Baby Shower celebrating, supporting, and empowering Black mothers and families!

Growth requires intention, and I'm being intentional about where I show up, what I'm learning, and who I'm learning alongside.

Last week, I attended the Maryland Black Perinatal Health & Reproductive Justice Policy and Practice Convening in Baltimore.

As SAILS @_bornintosilence grows, I'm committed to strengthening our understanding of policy and advocacy, and how decisions made at the systems level impact the families we serve.

I was so focused that I barely took pictures this time! 😂 But it was wonderful reconnecting with familiar faces, making new connections, and learning in community.

A little reminder for your healing journey: you don’t have to have it all figured out.

Healing isn’t linear. Some days you’ll feel lighter, and other days you might feel like you’re starting all over again. Give yourself grace through every season.

Whether you’re navigating grief, motherhood, or simply learning how to pour back into yourself, please remember: it gets better, and you don’t have to go through it alone. There is space for your feelings, your growth, and your healing here.
