painting everyday til I finish this. by @iamsaidahgray

i left this canvas like this for the past three days, and was met with a lot a resistance with starting, life has been life’ing and the stress has been overtaking me mentally. i got a message from a friend that energized me to pour into my creativity, so today that’s what i’ll be doing. by @iamsaidahgray

I deleted Instagram back in February after a church sermon told me clear as day: break up with the world. So I did. Went home, held my breath, and deactivated & deleted the app. (Still working on letting go of other parts of the world, music, certain shows, etc [WIP])

I came back a month later, with plans to promote a pop-up that never happened (because…life). Since then, I’ve been busy. Real life busy. Coordinating art wellness workshops with ACTA, playing the cajon on the worship team, teaching some of my biggest artist workshops yet (70 ppl 🤪), traveling with my bestie, crying, healing, laughing, making pottery, and trying to listen when God tells me to rest and focus on me… which, honestly, I’ve been ignoring. And now I’m tired, of’course.

But I’ve missed y’all. I’ve missed sharing this journey. I will say being off here, helped me be present for what God was doing in real-time. No filter. No post. Just presence. And I plan to still honor that flow.

In the quiet, I started therapy again. Faced a level of forgiveness I never thought I’d have to. Fell madly in love with pottery. Went to two of my favorite concerts ever. Read a couple books. Planted some veggies & killed a couple plants (vacation life). Built new friendships. The highs were high, the lows came with TOUGH lessons… but through it all, God taught me how to look at myself through his eyes and He has held me steady.

I’m resurfacing, not to perform, but to reconnect. To share where He’s taking me next, in hopes to encourage you to seek him in your journey. Stay close & stay tuned.

With care,

A poem in motion. ❤️✨

Dance is a form of love too — a language of devotion, care, and connection beyond words. This Valentine’s season, we’re spotlighting a powerful dance performance by @kemoriaee a choreographer with the @divasofcompton

The poem was written and performed by curator @saidahgray Accompanied by “Agape” by Nicholas Britell. The song’s swelling, tender composition mirrors the depth of selfless love, holding space for vulnerability, intimacy, and shared humanity.

This piece offers a glimpse into the heart of The Power of Love Opening Reception.

I had some of my best memories this summer and some experiences that I wish weren’t memories at all. saw it all, did it all and it meant nothing without Christ.

Summer ended in an eye opening way full of revelations and forcing me to grown and take actions on things that I had let linger for far too long.

All in all I’m thankful for this season! And excited for what the last quarter of 2024 will bring.

Did this summer almost take you out or were you God’s favorite? 👀
