POSTS STORIES REELS

This Women’s History Month, I’m reflecting on how grateful I am to contribute to @ourtimepress and highlight powerful community stories, local businesses, culture, and voices that deserve the spotlight. As I grow as a writer, know that my intention is always storytelling with purpose.

You can read all these stories at the link in my bio. If you have an event, business, initiative, or story happening in Brooklyn that I should know about, send me a message! I’d love to hear about it.

Meet Simone. 🫶

We first met @iamsimonev at our New York Pop-Up’s Open Casting Call, and we knew right away she was someone we wanted to know better. Soon after, our community voted her onto our runway, where she opened our New York Fashion Show with so much presence and intention.

In her spotlight, Simone reflects on growing up in the early 2000s, unlearning body shame, and learning to use style as a way to show up fully and authentically. She talks about the power of community, the importance of not doing life alone, and what it’s meant to step out of the background and into herself.

Keep reading to hear Simone’s story, in her own words.

@thisishowisunday I may just be a tropical scent girlie now! Fruity, fresh and long lasting. I usually layer my scents but this one is great on its own🤎
