Baby girl on the way! She was made in Brazil, traveled all continents including 9 countries with her crazy parents. Now getting ready to be born into this world 🗺️

We are planning an intentional/intuitive birth in Seoul, Korea in few weeks time (well, could be tomorrow 😜). Cannot wait for her to meet you all beautiful humans and participate in the gift of life 🙏 by @iamsonge

An Invitation to Africa 🌍

I come here so often that I‘m establishing another basecamp for us here in Kenya. When I mention traveling to Africa, I’m often met with concern or surprise. These reactions stem from widespread misconceptions about the continent - perceptions of danger, poverty, and the unknown.

However, the Africa I‘ve come to know is a tapestry of diverse landscapes, cultures, and opportunities. It’s a place where nature‘s raw beauty coexists with rapid growth and innovation. While it may not be perfect, Africa offers a unique perspective that can profoundly impact those who experience it.

I encourage you to visit Africa, not with the notion of ”saving“ it, but to enrich your own life. Let the continent’s natural wonders, vibrant humanity, and grounding energy inspire you. Here, you might find the spark for something truly extraordinary 😉

집을 설계할 때 해 가는 길을 따라 공간 쓰임을 정하고 집을 놓았다. 우리 침실에서 해가 뜨고 낮에는 거실을 지나 저녁에는 사진에 보이는 쪽으로 해가 진다. 석양이 특히나 이쁜 이곳에 큰 창을 내고, 자연을 맘껏 즐길 수 있게 공간을 내었다.

한국의 평상이기도, 서양의 리딩눅이기도 한 공간은 각자의 서재가 되었다가, 부부 대화실이기도 했다가, 상을 놓고 차를 마시는 다실이 돠었다가, 밤에는 반대편 벽에 영화를 틀면 우리만의 영화관이 되고, 작은 체구 손님이 지낼 수 있는 쪽방이 되기도, 위 아래 수납공간에는 부피가 큰 짐들을 보관하는 창고이기도 하다. 작은 평수에 상대적으로 심플한 설계 안에서 다양한 이야기들을 담으려면 조금은 머리를 굴린 창의적인 공간을 만드는 게 좋다. 80%의 단순한 설계와 20%의 재치있는 공간 기획이 집을 더 재미있고 특별하게 만든다.

집이 올라가고도 일년 정도 기다렸다 채워놓은 이 공간이 서서히 빛을 발한다. 오일로 칠을 하고 창문도 깨끗히 닦아야 하는 잔업이 있지만, 여기 앉을때 마다 우리가 머릿속에 그리던 순간들이 현실이 되는 것에 행복감을 느낀다. 매일이 새로운 창문넘어 경관은 덤 😉
