As some of you may know, I began my acting journey at the age of ten and was afforded the opportunity to perform on numerous theatre stages across the United Kingdom.

In 2005, I had the distinct honour of performing with @powetic.asiyama in the powerful production A Slave’s Story at the Peepul Centre in Leicester.

We were privileged to perform before the late and great @revjjackson
The cast included a number of children, among whom I was proud to be counted.

For me, this experience was far more than a theatrical performance; it was an introduction to a new world and to living history.

A staircase had been prepared so that Mr. Jackson could stand above the audience to deliver his address.
However, something shifted in the atmosphere.

He saw the children, he saw us, he saw me.

Rather than remaining elevated on the platform prepared for him, he chose to step down and sit among us.
I vividly remember him holding my hand and speaking words of strength and affirmation over us all (pictured in the second slide).

That simple yet profoundly powerful act, stepping down to STAND with the youth, spoke volumes.
It was a gesture that acknowledged the future, our future, and the importance of investing belief and encouragement into the next generation.

May his soul rest in peace.
