Hi, my name is Tamara, and this is my official application to be your stylist 👋🏾A little about me:I was born and raised in Los Angeles (Inglewood mostly), but I’ve been living in Gardena, CA for 12 years now (yes I never left LA, but why would I ever leave)! I’m a coffee lover (just got a Moka pot 🥰) and a firm believer in that your body is not something to fix but to embrace 😌. Style is how you show yourself you love you and everything that is you. Even though I started my career in administrative, customer service, and marketing type roles, I’ve decided it was time to stop toying with the idea of being a stylist and make it happen. I spent this week recovering from a cold and immediately started trying to make up for lost time, which is exactly the thing that got me sick in the first place. So today's fit is a reminder: one step at a time. We're human. We need rest. And if we don't take it, our bodies take it for us.The fit: @fashionnovacurve shorts I'm obsessed with, a sweater because movie theaters are always freezing, @croptuck so the belt still gets its moment, rubber bands holding the sleeves up (styling is 40% problem solving), fun socks, a scarf for character, and bracelets for the jingle jangle.Destination: Minions with my daughter.Fit Friday, where we throw fits to keep from throwing tantrums. It’s so easy to look at social media and think everyone is thriving except… you 🫠There are SO many people out there who want you to think their lives and careers are perfect. Mine aren’t. Summer outfits, handled, thanks to @nuuly Everything here is rented, so when I want to size up, I just send it back and get my size. Second day at the Anime Expo, allegedly the busiest day of the whole thing, and I'm walking in Nami inspired. Couldn't buy cosplay pieces in time, so this came straight out of my closet: shoes that's been through the ringer, pearls because pearls make sense, and my favorite necklace. Final outfit decided after some kind notes from my daughter.Nami is money hungry AND the mom of the group keeping the naughty boys in line, which honestly might be the most relatable character description in anime.Rate the fit. I wanted to be MaoMao today. Instead I'm cosplay-my-way at Anime Expo, because finding niche cosplay pieces in a size 20 on a short body without ordering fast fashion is a quest I started too late. So: the dress that moves like a costume, a white tee, and the sneakers that can survive eleven miles behind a 14-year-old.Here's the real fit though. My daughter never asked me to dress up. But she notices when I show up like her thing matters. Half of this job is just arriving dressed like you want to be there.Moms, what are your kids dragging you into this summer?
