Happy Friday, world! You made it. 🤙

Friendly reminder - 80% of “making it” is just showing up consistently. A mediocre idea executed well beats a great idea in the drawer.

Every time.

Start it. Get it out there. Then perfect it.

To all the grads I photographed this year, may your student loans be as small as your first apartment! 🎓😅

All jokes aside, I photographed a lot of grads this spring and really enjoyed talking to them about their futures and their goals. I’m always fascinated when kids know EXACTLY what they want to do and go for it. 👏

Sweet XV 👑

Here’s a quick peek at a few of my favorite photos from an epic #Quinceañera I captured earlier this spring. 📸

A lot of planning and prep work goes into formal event productions and I always appreciate the trust a family shows throughout the process because it requires the same attention to detail and execution expected of a wedding.

I worked closely with this family for months to make sure every little detail was cared for and flawless, and it turned out pretty amazing.

This one came by way of a referral, so that’s always a huge compliment! To have someone recommend you to their family is a pretty big deal, so a big THANK YOU to everyone that continues sending referrals my way. I appreciate the trust and support. 💙

What if I told you these photos were captured in my clients’s living room? Would you believe me?? See slide 🔟⬅️

This client hired me to photograph his lovely wife for her big milestone birthday. They came to my studio and we discussed options but I could tell he really wanted to do something EXTRA SPECIAL to celebrate her, so we went with the white-glove in-home studio package.

We put together a look book and mood board to give her ideas and inspiration, we discussed colors, selected wardrobe together so everything was nicely curated and organized prior to our shoot.

We also made sure she had her hair and make-up professionally done right in the comfort of her own home, prior to my arrival. We took our time with wardrobe changes and they didn’t have to worry about anything, everything was taken care of on my end.

Although it’s a lot more work for me vs. shooting them at my studio, some people value convenience and the experience over all else, and they will pay premium prices for that premium experience.

Becoming a dad has 100% made me a better photographer! Hands. Down. I connect deeper with families, relate more to parents, I’m more patient and can make kids laugh much easier than I ever could as a non-parent.

I’m still working on perfecting those dad jokes but I’m always happy when families rehire or recommend me to their friends and family. Those are the best compliments I can receive as a small business. Oh, and good reviews are great too! 😅

These were all shot on my Sony A7RV with one off-camera strobe + soft box combo. Except for the last two, @magnetmod and a gel for the win! 🏆

April was a busy month and I’m soooo behind on posting. 🫠

Occasionally, I photograph families too! 😉📸

Riparian Preserve in @gilbertyourtown is great. I’ve captured everything from families, grads, maternity, engagements, proposals, and environmental portraits here (scroll through my feed, you’ll see!). You can’t really go wrong!

Even in the summer, there are plenty of shaded areas to escape the heat and you’re just a short walk to Carl’s Damaged Pets, a local favorite for the kids. Love this place. #GilbertAZ taken in Gilbert Riparian Preserve by @iamtdaza

This photo was captured an hour before sunset in the spring. 💛

I shoot all of my outdoor #portraits and #headshots using at least one off-camera strobe with diffusion. Sometimes, I shoot with a bare bulb if I want dramatic shadows or a more “editorial” look.

In this particular photo, I loved the way the sun was wrapping around her right side, giving me us a natural kicker or rim light on her. I composed this shot in this perfect little patch of desert foliage to create a more dynamic and interesting shot with foreground and background elements in the frame.

#TLDR - A lot of thought and intention goes into capturing beautiful images for my clients. I was very happy with this shot! 🙌💛 taken in Chandler, Arizona by @iamtdaza
