After the party is the after-party 😂💃🏾

But first, I need you all to settle an argument because apparently hubby and I do not see the same colours. 😭

The colour scheme for the party was BROWN.

I wore this dress. The front is brown. The back is brown. Yes, there’s blue around the sides and edges — BUT THE DRESS HAS BROWN IN IT. 🤎

Hubby is adamant that what I’m calling brown is actually PURPLE. 😑

It is not purple.

So before this becomes a full-blown household dispute, please settle it for us:

Comment: BROWN 🤎 or PURPLE 💜?

And yes… once everyone else left, apparently that was our cue to really start the party. 😂

The symptoms that affected me the most emotionally were the ones I could see every single time I looked in the mirror.

My bulging eyes and my goiter.

The palpitations were frightening.
The tremors were frustrating.
The weight loss was exhausting.

But these two felt different because I couldn’t escape them.

My eyes looked different. My neck looked different. And for a long time, I became incredibly self-conscious about both.

I would deliberately choose tops and dresses that covered my neck because I didn’t want people seeing my goiter.

And my eyes? I was desperate to find something that would help.

During one of my many research rabbit holes, I came across eyebright, a herb traditionally used for eye complaints.

I think that little part of my story shows just how much Graves’ was affecting me.

I was researching because I wanted myself back.

I wanted to look in the mirror and recognize myself again.

And slowly, my focus shifted from simply wanting the symptoms to disappear to asking a much bigger question:

What was happening in my body in the first place?
That question changed the direction of my entire journey.

If you have Graves’ or hyperthyroidism, which symptom has affected you the most — physically or emotionally? Tell me below. 🤍

There was a time when going to bed didn’t mean going to sleep.

I’d lie down exhausted… and then wake up around 2am with my heart pounding like I’d just run a race.

That was one of the scariest symptoms I experienced with Graves’ disease and hyperthyroidism.

Racing heart.
Palpitations.
Restlessness.
And then the anxiety that came with lying there wondering why my heart WOULD NOT calm down.

I was exhausted, but my body seemed to be running at full speed.

Looking back, there were so many signs my body was giving me before I understood how connected they all were.

Anyone else with Graves’ or hyperthyroidism experience the nighttime heart racing?

Looking back, being dropped by two endos was probably one of the best things that happened to me.

At the time, it was terrified, scared, and felt completely alone.

But it pushed me to keep searching for another option which I eventually found. And lI finally reached remission from Graves’ disease. ❤️

Sometimes, what feels like the end of the road becomes the beginning of a completely different journey.

I’m so grateful I didn’t give up. You shouldn’t either 🤍

We’re constantly told to reduce salt, and reducing excess sodium can absolutely be sensible.

But your body still needs iodine, and your thyroid uses iodine to make thyroid hormones. The part many people miss is that not all salt is iodized, and many specialty salts don’t contain added iodine.

For me, iodine was part of the protocol I followed. I started with 2 drops of Lugol’s iodine 2%.

The real question is:

If you’re cutting back on salt, do you actually know where your iodine is coming from?

Comment IODINE if this is something you’ve never really thought about before.

One thing I wish I understood much earlier is just how nutrient-dependent the thyroid is.

When I was trying to heal my Graves’ disease, I stopped thinking only about the thyroid itself and started looking at what my body actually needed to begin healing.

A few nutrients that matter:

Iodine — needed to make thyroid hormones.
Selenium — supports the conversion of T4 into the active T3.
Zinc — supports thyroid hormone regulation.
Iron — helps the thyroid use iodine to make thyroid hormones.

Deficiencies matter, and understanding what your body is missing can be an important part of the bigger picture.

If you’re dealing with Graves’ or hyperthyroidism, save this for later.

Comment “GUIDE” if you want the exact protocol I followed in my own healing journey. 💕

I used to think a Graves’ flare was random.

But the more I paid attention to what was happening in my body and in my life, the more patterns I started to notice.

Stress. Food sensitivities. Environmental load. Gut health. Liver support.

For me, understanding the possible triggers changed the way I approached my health completely.

This isn’t about blaming yourself for a flare. It’s about becoming more aware of what your body may be responding to.

I was starting to feel better, but I was still hiding.

Hiding my thyroid with my clothes.
Checking my eyes in every reflection.
Trying to recognise myself again.
Graves’ changed more than my body. It changed how I saw myself.

Slowly, that started to change too.

Comment GUIDE if you want the protocol I followed.

Plastic is everywhere — in our kitchens, food packaging, personal-care products and everyday routines.

But here’s what caught my attention: our exposure isn’t necessarily fixed.

Reducing the amount of plastic we come into contact with is one area where small, consistent changes can add up. 🤍

Swipe through both videos → the second one shares some simple ways to start reducing your exposure.

Save this one for later.

This was what working on my health looked like for me.

Not one magic supplement.
Not one juice.
Not one overnight fix.

I changed the way I ate.
I juiced every day.
I took supplements throughout the day.
And yes… coffee enemas were part of my routine too. 😳

I did these things consistently as part of the protocol I followed while living with Graves’ disease.

And somewhere along the way, something shifted.

I started sleeping better.
I had more energy.
I started feeling more like myself again. 🤍

It took time. It took consistency.
But if you’re wondering exactly what I did, I documented my full protocol in The Third Option.

Comment GUIDE and I’ll send you the link. 🤍

I had an OVERACTIVE thyroid… so why was iodine part of my protocol? 👀

Here’s what surprised me when I started learning about iodine:

Iodine isn’t only thyroid food. It’s used by the body and is present in tissues throughout the body.

But when it comes to your thyroid, iodine has a particularly important job:

Your thyroid needs iodine to make thyroid hormones.

Iodine becomes part of T3 and T4 — the hormones produced by your thyroid.

In my own protocol, I used 2% Lugol’s iodine. I started with 2 drops a day and later increased to 4 drops a day, adding it to my carrot and apple juice.

And here’s something really important: more iodine is NOT automatically better.

Although unused iodine is excreted through the kidneys, excess iodine can affect thyroid function, especially for people who already have thyroid disease.

There was so much more to my protocol.

Want to see the complete protocol I followed?

Comment GUIDE and I’ll send you the link to The Third Option. 🤍
