There’s lunch money. There’s gas money. And, of course, there’s rent money.

Now, as the stigma around cannabis begins to fade, there’s a new line item on the family ledger: weed money.

Join Thunder Walker, author of Weed Money, cannabis appraiser, publisher, and medical marijuana license holder, for a firsthand look at how cannabis became a conversation around the dinner table. Families are setting budgets and making choices. In Weed Money, she follows a twenty dollar bill to show how it is building a billion dollar industry.

The conversation starts in October.

You were told it was about the plant.

That was the first distraction.

“Conventions and Expos need to offer more than new pretty objects.

A serious business owner should leave with more than samples, swag, and a tote bag.

You should leave with:
better pricing, better vendors, new contracts, useful relationships, competitive information, and a clearer path to profit.

Because if all you did was walk the floor and admire what’s new, you attended.

If you negotiated, sourced, compared, and closed YOU DID BUSINESS.” @iamthunderwalker

Last year, we pulled up to Vegas. This year, the journey starts before we ever get there. 👀🌱🚐

A throwback to the OH-HighYo! Media team connecting with Ms. Thunder Walker (@iamthunderwalker ) and Roach Budd (@roach_budd ) at MJBizCon 2025. (@mjbizdaily )

In December, we’re heading back to Las Vegas for year two — but we’re doing things a little differently this time.

We’re taking OH-HighYo! on the road.

The Midwest → Vegas.
The people we meet.
The places we stop.
The stories along the way.

We’re not ready to tell you everything just yet… but the road to MJBizCon is becoming part of the story this year. 🎥

Rescheduling is a game of musical chairs.
Patients are waiting. Businesses are waiting. But Guess Who Isn’t Waiting???? 🔌
The longer the music plays, the fewer chairs there may be. Read Weed Money taken in United States by @iamthunderwalker

You’ve seen the photo: the table, the cannabis, the officers, the dog.

Then comes the headline: “The street value is…”

But who said so? What market? What math?

A number makes a headline. That doesn’t make it an appraisal.

WEED Money asks you to look again.

Have you ever questioned the price tag on a seizure? 👇

America spent decades pushing cannabis underground.
Now it wants consumers to come above ground and spend legally.
But which comes first the chicken or the egg?

“It doesn’t have to be that way.” 🌿

If you could change one narrative in the cannabis industry overnight, what would it be?

From the OH-HighYo! archives, Ms. Thunder Walker (@iamthunderwalker ) reflected on something bigger than business: the division that can exist inside a community built around a plant that has historically brought people from all walks of life together.

Different races. Different backgrounds. Different experiences. Same plant.

As the cannabis industry continues to grow, professionalize and evolve, maybe one of the most important questions is whether we can grow without losing that sense of community.

🎙️ Do you think cannabis culture is becoming more united — or more divided?
