and they looking at me weird for repping my roots and culture.. 🫠

growing up in switzerland & canada, and now living in between sri lanka and india, closer to my hindu tamil roots, i literally am the bridge between these worlds..

india still has strong presence of their roots in touristic places (spirituality, music, food) where as i feel sri lanka could do more to put the culture out there..

the west is coming to experience the culture, even if they still dont know it for themselves. we have to show them the beauty and work on developing our traditions and culture even further.. not just curating „avocado toast & chai latte“ experiences, because „thats what the foreigners want“..

Some ride waves on the ocean.. i prefer to ride the waves of music.

i dont know freestyle rhyming/rapping works.
you either flow, or you dont.
with practice you get better.
but again no idea how it works.
i mean how does the right rhyme land exactly on my mouth, on beat and makes sense? No clue. Just happens.
Its the most fulfilling feeling, when i hit a flow state like this.

Shakti is what drives the universe. It is in me & you. And in every living being. The wind. The birds. The trees. Shakti is what life is. Energy. And in the Hindu tradition, she is feminine. The movement to Shiva‘s stillness.
