Everybody left. The storm was rolling in hard. Wind, snow, could barely see sh#%. Weather that’ll make anybody go, “nah dog.” But I chilled out there for a minute….. literally. Chocolate popsicle. After about a minute, this owl pulled up. Mf was calm too. Not panicking, no anxiety or human-phobia… just basking in this storm like it belonged there. I guess it does, but that stuck with me. Many of us try to move through life waiting for clear skies…. waiting for the right moment, the right timing, etc.

But the owl doesn’t wait for better weather. It hunts in this sh#%. The more I thought about it, the more it felt like a metaphor for existence. I was sitting there like….. “..BARS, bro!”

The storm isn’t always the problem… most times, it’s us. It’s the way we see ourselves. The storm is just a mirror, in a way… it separates the people who need comfort from the people who can move forward anyway. While most are waiting for things to calm down, some people learn how to see in the dark. That changes everything. Because if you stand long enough in the storm… you start realizing something strange… the storm was never there to stop you. It was there to show you who you become when things aren’t easy. And sometimes, that’s the moment you finally see clearly. taken in Snow Storm by @iamzflo
