"Bach at Tumbling Rock" is an exceptional first-year project that transcends academic requirements. It reflects an impressive maturity in spatial thinking, emotional intelligence, and architectural storytelling. Yong Wei Shaun's design is a sensitive and deeply personal work that also succeeds as a piece of architecture, one that responds to site, context, and human experience with poetic precision. The sequencing of the visual documentation mirrors the student's process of grappling with personal loss, building a compelling and authentic design argument. The clarity of thought is matched by an expressive visual language. This project not only meets the module learning outcomes with distinction but sets a benchmark for narrative-driven design in architectural education foundation. It serves as a reminder that the most powerful architecture often begins not with form, but with feeling."
