11 years later.

11 years of cross country have come and gone and as I say goodbye, I am so thankful for the memories it gave me. XC was always my first running love. There’s just something different about grass that feels like true racing, a test of guts that showcases your ability to push the body past its limit and there is something so beautiful about it. I will cherish my time on the course as a Dragon, a Trojan, and a Blugold, as well as those who shared those jerseys with me. I am blessed enough that all of the years culminated in my final race at DIII nationals. A perfect ending to a cross country career I can’t thank the Lord enough for.

Last minute craziness to get all of us to South Carolina to cheer on Ian and the Blugolds. DIII Nationals! Worth every bit to watch him run his last XC race as a student athlete. What a way to end. So proud of you kid! 11 years flew by in a blink of an eye.💙💛 taken in Spartanburg, South Carolina by @ian.barnes12
