POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We’re back.. This time around with a bass-laden soiree at SideQuest ( @sidequestpgh ), the basement space with a soundsystem rig well suited for the low-end freq’s, and two selectors who have long been on our radar:

@carre__carre
-
Carré is one of the leading figureheads in an international cohort of female, queer and non-binary producers pushing deep dubstep - alongside Too Far Gone favorites EMA, Darwin, Introspekt, Beatrice M and the Queer Steppa don, CCL - representing a refreshing shift in a genre that has long been heavily male-dominated, opening up a more inclusive space while also pushing a sound whose deep and meditative qualities speak to the dub part of dubstep.

UK dubstep’s lineage is the backbone of Carré’s sound where she balances a fine mix of sensual low-end rollers, percussive left-field techno, chrome-plated dubstep, and wonky drum workouts.

She has graced imprints like SPE:C, Bait, Woozy, and the formative dubstep imprint, Tempa ( @tempa.ltd ). Her latest string of EPs, Hibiscus + Citrine, highlight spacious rollers with US rap-meets-dubstep crossover - making it clear that she’s thoroughly comfortable weaving her own stew of influences into the modern bass music recipe.
With the dubstep baton finally passing to a new guard, Carré has cemented her role as one of its torchbearers.

@formosa.exe
-
Formosa (aka Steph Tsong) is a multi-disciplinary Taiwanese-American DJ, artist, designer and co-founder of Jellyfish ( @jellyfishpgh ),a long-running queer and trans-centered dance party based in Pittsburgh - known for its vibrant vibe curation, inclusive ethos, and a wide-range of eclectic sonic spectrums.

Outside from being one half of the city’s most in-demand party collective, Steph is a champion of the PGH dance underground - always willing to dot-connect, share knowledge or nerd out on her impeccable/extensive musical taste. Very lucky to have Formosa join us for opening duties where she will take us into the breakbeat-heavy depths of her sonic palette.

Advance tickets are available now via RA (with limited Early Bird pricing) - check link in bio

When Torvvo ( @torvvo ) is behind the wheel, the journey becomes more important than the destination. Fearlessly handling the curves - with choice cuts of acid-dipped hypnosis, warped odd-ball electro, and dust-covered percussion workouts - always in complete control to create rhythmic, psychedelic atmospheres.

This booking was a special one as we have been long time friends and collaborators/co-conspirators (via Lateral and more).

Acting both as a homecoming and a showcase for Tom, he didn’t disappoint when given the keys 🏎️

Buckle up and don’t mind the fumes..

Counting my blessings as I rounded out year 7 behind the scenes at Honcho Campout:

To the @honchopgh boys, giving me a chance to be apart of their insanely beautiful world

To the mighty staff (& my production team 💪❤️), who work tirelessly to build a village in the middle of Appalachia

To the venue & vendors, who give us the keys and the means to make the magik happen

To the dancers + campers + artists, who make it worth each long day/late night/early morning & excessive stress/sleeplessness/muscle strain

I love you all - even when I’m short of words, breath and braincells.. 🫶 taken in Honcho Campout by @ian2fargone

Who the fuck is Scout ( @a.cosby ), you may ask? Well.. Allison is a friend to all and a “people’s champ” type of DJ. Her vision is clear: deep cut selections of roots reggae, lovers rock, rocksteady and dancehall.

We were blessed to bring her out of retirement (again) for this special opening set from our debut TFG party at Hot Mass ( @hotmasspgh ) on 11/22/2025 where she set the tone with some of her favorite dubs for the occasion.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: @torvvo

Torvvo (aka Tom Holroyd) is a Pittsburgh-born & Berlin-based producer intimately familiar with electromancy, having served for some time now as one of the folks behind beautiful synth module makers @verboselectronics and formerly at @pghmodular - Holroyd’s work in demonstrating, repairing, and understanding the flow of voltage through electronic components rewards him a deep, intuitive knowledge as both a builder and romancer of the machines producing his trademark sound.

There is something personally rewarding about hosting Tom for the upcoming @toofargonepgh party, as our friendship goes back a long way - in order to best tell the story, we have to look at the beginning of our collaborative work as Lateral:

Lateral was an event series + (and still is a) record label which started as a collective between Torvvo/Tom, Jonathan Carson ( @jawny5000 ) and myself.. one of our first Lateral parties was in 2017 at a now-defunct Bloomfield basement venue (RIP Polanzo’s… RIP Quinn?) with a heavy-hitting night of dark techno featuring Drumcell + Chloe Lula ( @chloe.lula )+ Torvvo

Tom moved to Berlin shortly after where he joined Verbos Electronics while I continued to fly the Lateral banner through events at Hot Mass

In 2020, we officially launched Lateral (the label) with a string of releases from Tom’s Torvvo project as well as his collaboration with @budino_o as Cycle_2 ( @cycle2_music )

More recently, Torvvo has released his latest EP, Substratum, on the legendary NYC label The Bunker ( @thebunkerny ) as well as consistent support from the likes of Interdimensional Transmissions ( @ithqdetroit ).. see clip from the opening of BMG’s 2025 No Way Back with his own mix of Torvvo - Carrier (file under: music to make you feel like a sexy car).

Both as a homecoming and a showcase, we’re elated to host Torvvo at @hotmasspgh on Saturday February 14 alongside @dbridge
