At the end of last year, I deleted social media off my phone. I took the hours back and poured them into learning the ins and outs of AI imaging.

I bought and sold computers looking for the right hardware. I bit off projects the tech wasn't ready for and stayed up late trying to make them work. Through failures and false starts I slowly figured it out. I built workflows that delivered real volume and speed, I made images that only existed in my head, I even fine-tuned local models for research and image accuracy.

And while doing all of it, I felt grief for what feels like a transition from one kind of image-making to another.

If there's one thing I've learned, it's that however you feel about AI, negative and positive, you're probably right. It's a gradient of shitty and liberating, of stealing and originality.

That nuance is where I want to exist: making the right things, the right way, for the right moment, no matter the medium.

An unhealthy obsession with product accuracy led me here.

You can always hand-retouch an AI image into shape. But that last 15% — "close" to final-file — is the most tedious part of the process. Across a full product line, it eats most of the time AI saved you.

So I built a workflow at Bixel Studios that QC's and corrects itself. Every render checked against the source product. Anything off-spec gets flagged and re-generated until it passes.

Less retouching. More final files.
