🎹 THIS WEDNESDAY 9/30 💻 We are excited to finally be joined by @iandicke, a composer, software designer, @ucrperforms professor, and founder of @novelmus. Based in Los-Angeles, Ian’s work uniquely explores the intersection of technology, composition, and interactive systems, creating and developing across everything from opera and contemporary music genres to interactive installations and highly specialized custom Max tools. Via @novelmusic, Ian develops Max for Live devices focused on generative sequencing, variation, modulation, and live performance. Check out his many awesome devices including Antenna (featured here), an expanded Max for Live audio capture utility that stores both a captured sample and its Simpler parameter settings in individual slots, allowing complete sounds and variations to be recalled instantly for fast sampling workflows & live performance. 💭 Bring your questions, hang with the community this Wednesday at 11am PT! 🔗 in bio to join. #maxmsp #ableton #maxforlive #composer #abletonpush by @iandicke
There's a particular kind of music that doesn't let you settle in -- it moves, shifts, and pulls you somewhere you didn't expect to go. That's Brightwork newmusic. This Saturday at Sierra Madre Playhouse, they bring Midterms: This Will Hurt Someone to our 99-seat room. No distance. No filter. Just sound that gets under your skin. Tickets at the link. (Check out here a sneak peek of Ian Dicke's Get Rich Quick, a very silly look at the corruption of capitalism and predatory lending, which will be performed as part of this Saturday's program). 🎶 #SmallStageBigWorld #SierraMadrePlayhouse #LiveMusic #NewMusic by @iandicke
New video alert 🚨!!! Here is a little teaser for White Parasol! Political satire. Chamber music. A title that dares you to look away. Brightwork newmusic performs "Midterms: This Will Hurt Someone" next Saturday at Sierra Madre Playhouse -- a show that sounds exactly like the moment we're living in. 99 seats. Very few left. Tickets at the link. #NewMusic #SmallStageBigWorld #SierraMadrePlayhouse by @iandicke

I have an exciting announcement! My soccer CD “Keys to the Beautiful Game,” produced by the amazing Barry Werger will be dropping on July 17 on Reference Recordings! It took 5 years to complete this very exciting project for which I commissioned 10 composers Tom Flaherty, Pamela Z, Ian Dicke, David Sanford, Dana Kaufman, Harold Meltzer, Christopher Cerrone, Oliver Dubon, Adam Schoenberg, and Evan Ware to write soccer-inspired pieces for me. Evan’s piece “Skillset” will be a music video and will come out in the fall, the other 9 pieces are coming out this month as audio, available in all the usual spaces. I miss Harold so much, he was very proud of his soccer piece “Dribble” (inspired by #leonelmessi) and this recording! Check out the trailer and dive into #TheBeautifulGame! #KeysToTheBeautifulGame #piano #soccer by @iandicke

Synths in tow, we drove up from LA to play #GardenOfMemory at the @chapelofthechimes — and what a night. Beautiful space, around 3,000 attendees, and an evening packed with amazing local and visiting performers. A truly glorious ruckus! Huge thanks to @newmusicbayarea for having us! And thanks @yourhighness336 for the overhead video and images. #synth #improv #solstice #electronicmusic #moog #ableton by @iandicke
