A very special evening - IASH Peace Award 2026 ❤️

Deeply honoured to receive the IASH Peace Award 2026 from the @iashannover. This recognition was particularly grateful as the evening also marked the farewell from my role as the Student Coordinator of IASH in Hannover after many years. It was a privilege to receive this recognition in the presence of Mr. Bernd Lange, Member of the European Parliament; Shri Raakesh Natraj, Consul General of India in Hamburgv (@indiainhamburggermany); and Dr. @drbalaramani, President of IASH and the Leibniz ambassador of @leibnizuniversityhannover.

Being part of IASH and having the opportunity to support students and contribute to the Indian community in Hannover has been a very special part of my journey here. More than an award, I see this recognition as a responsibility to continue supporting those around me, sharing happiness, spreading smiles, and treating everyone with kindness and respect, wherever life takes me. Special thanks to @mairali_majmudar, for the incredibly warm and heartfelt presentation — it made the moment even more special. ❤️🙏

As I prepare to leave Hannover and begin a new chapter, I look back on these years with immense gratitude. ❤️

Am 2. Oktober haben wir in Hannover Gandhi Jayanti und den Internationalen Tag der Gewaltlosigkeit begangen – mit einer Ehrung an der Gandhi-Büste und einem gemeinsamen Abend in der International School Hannover Region.

Es war mir eine große Freude, Eva Bender, Raakesh Nataraj, Generalkonsul der Republik Indien in Hamburg, Bernd Lange, MdEP und Vorsitzender des INTA-Ausschusses, sowie Susanne Wolter, Geschäftsführerin des Landespräventionsrates Niedersachsen, begrüßen zu dürfen.

Bernd Lange gab uns zudem wertvolle Einblicke in die aktuellen Entwicklungen zum geplanten EU–Indien-Handelsabkommen. Lieber Bernd, herzlichen Dank für deine langjährige Begleitung, Unterstützung und den wertvollen Austausch.

Ein besonderer Moment war die Würdigung von Dr. Stefanie Wullstein und Dr. Anusha Kishore sowie die Verleihung des IASH Peace Award an Myriam von Homeless Care Hannover und Dr. Anil Kumar P. M. Nair von der Leibniz Universität Hannover.

Gandhis Botschaft von Frieden, Gewaltlosigkeit, Respekt und Dialog bleibt aktueller denn je. Herzlichen Dank an alle Gäste, Künstler:innen, Ehrenamtlichen und Unterstützer sowie an die International School Hannover Region für die langjährige Zusammenarbeit. by @iashannover
