What an epic afternoon on the water ! 🤯😮‍💨 it started with dodging a few pretty intense thunderstorms with wild lightning ⚡️ that made for a perfect combo for 8’ swimbait rods 🤣 I had to hide in some ppls boat slips. Watched the boaters run in scared, then I almost threw in the towel. I had a thought, that I always tell my buddies if you scared,”that’s why you’ll never be remembered” 🤣🤣 I also had a strong feeling that this is that weather where a true giant slips up and boy was I right. 🤯🔥 I’m not surprised why though, the Ace by @yorkcasting_co was the perfect match to the hatch. 🤫 the @nucanoe unlimited from @tgcanoesandkayaks handled and performed amazingly during the crazy weather. The exact reason why I got it. The grind never stops | this fish barely broke my personal best(previously 10lbs) but still is now the biggest bass I’ve ever caught weight wise. This is why we Fish, some people chase a fish of this caliber for a lifetime with no success, I’ve been blessed with 2 in mine 🙏 no livescope, no electronics just many hours and days on the water gathering information and knowing what spots cater to bigs like this. by @ibarela77

Striped Bass are the tax man of the freshwater 😳😳😳👀 this 10” glide bait by @ds.customz is just a snack to them. They can eat up to a 16-17” gizzard shad. Tricking a fish of this caliber with a hand made bait is thrilling !! Watch the full video on my YT channel link in bio. by @ibarela77

If you know me, ya know I don’t care much about who has what record or what title, but when I landed the biggest Guadalupe Bass I have ever seen in my life and it be the State Fish, you know I had to submit this monster 😳😳 if ya ask me, I am still in shock that me just a regular ole kayak angler caught the State Record Guadalupe Bass, I still don’t believe it. You never know what you may catch when you’re kayak fishing. Too bad my scale wasn’t certified, because my scale read 4lbs 4oz, that right there shatters the current weight record.
