Unfortunately last nights show at historic Ulster Hall was cancelled due to an unforeseen emergency. I did technically play the hall as soundcheck went very smoothly. We mused how this was the place where Led Zeppelin first performed Stairway to Heaven in March of 1971 to a lukewarm reception. It was also the place our world-class sound engineer played his first banjo solo with the band to a Niwel Tsumbu composition, just a few notes that sputtered with life and pathos. I apologize to the good folks I comped tickets to, particularly Claire and the lovely couple celebrating 45 years of marriage. There was no way to contact you of the sudden change. I hope your dinner was lovely and here’s to many more anniversaries. Thanks for the great sessions and the warmest welcome. It was a reminder of why I play music, why I play bass, to join things together with notes that come directly from my heart. It might sound overdramatic but I’m seeking the universal in this life and I think I picked just the right instrument to pursue that goal. In that way Belfast was a huge success and an absolute honor. Back to New York and then Japan. taken in Belfast by @ibassnote
