Lovely gig last night at @paulsplaceofficial. Big thanks to the members of Paul's Place, who painted a backdrop that meant my legs were camouflage. Here's me looking whimsical and goofy, my favourite combo x by @ibbytellsjokes

Fringe 2026 💖
Another bloody lovely trip to Edinburgh. Lots of shows (48 if you count biffy clyro), lots of jokes told, and lots of zines given out (200? I lost count).

I love Edinburgh and I love getting to see shows and tell jokes and also just feel normal as my authentic self. Look at my little cheesy grin in most of these pictures!! Beside the one where I found out Dolly had died. I'm so grateful to the people I met this year that were so so lovely to me. I was on shows that I have loved coming to every year, I managed to successfully network with people (an actual miracle), I got through to the semi-finals of my second comedy competition!!! A crazy journey. Cannot wait for next year.

I also definitely felt the impact of my disability more profoundly this year and had to accommodate myself more. I also had to carry an actual backpack around rather than the smaller bags I used to (disabled people carrying more baggage metaphor, etc etc). I'm proud of managing my needs alone for the most part, giving myself the grace to do this and not just pushing through.

And finally, as I have said for the last 3 years and still not done, maybe next year is the year I bring a show up???? We'll see divas x by @ibbytellsjokes

Did i just call my zines art?? Hell yeah I did.

I thought a lot about the use of AI whilst I was making my zines. Edinburgh Fringe had already started when I was making them, and I was seeing the influx of people using AI for their posters, promotion, and even shows. Made me feel quite ill tbh.

I have really enjoyed giving out my zines and connecting with people over them, and I really enjoyed making all of them. The last lot I'm giving out are slightly wonky from where I didn't photocopy them right, and I considered not using them. But then I thought fuck it, it proves that a human did this.

I'm not thinking that I'm changing the world with my zines, but I like to think it's my small act of resistance against people deciding that making art is too hard and thinking robots can do it better. What is the point of being human if we can't make things that are weird, silly, stupid, funny, interesting? Outsourcing that stuff to AI is weird and pointless. Stop it pls x by @ibbytellsjokes
