Under the Wild Life (Protection) Amendment Act, 2022, native Indian parakeet species (such as the Rose-ringed, Alexandrine, and Plum-headed parakeets) are protected under Schedule II.
Important Rules to Know: Buying, selling, or possessing native Indian parakeets is illegal.
Penalties: Violations can result in a jail term of up to 3 years, a fine of up to ₹1 lakh, or both.

*World Earth Day Celebration*

Saving Dreamz Foundation in association with Indian Biodiversity Conservation Society successfully organised an *Essay Writing and Poster Competition* on the occasion of *World Earth Day* with the aim of creating awareness about environmental conservation and encouraging children to express their thoughts creatively towards saving our planet.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from children of different age groups who beautifully presented their ideas through essays written in English as well as local languages. The young participants shared meaningful thoughts on topics like protecting nature, reducing pollution, saving trees, conserving water and creating a greener future for the coming generations.

Along with essay writing, children also showcased their creativity and artistic talent through wonderful poster and drawing presentations carrying powerful messages to “Save Earth, Save Environment.” Their colourful artworks reflected their love and concern for Mother Nature and inspired everyone present at the event.

The competition not only helped children improve their creative and communication skills but also encouraged them to become responsible citizens who understand the importance of biodiversity and environmental protection.

To appreciate their sincere efforts and outstanding participation, the children were felicitated by Saving Dreamz Foundation. Their dedication, creativity and awareness towards environmental conservation truly made the event meaningful and inspiring.

Saving Dreamz Foundation extends heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Biodiversity Conservation Society, volunteers, coordinators, parents and all participants for making this initiative successful.

Let us all join hands to protect our Earth and build a cleaner, greener and healthier future.

Let's be with House sparrows. World Sparrow Day, 20th March... an important day that reminds us how our changing lifestyles are affecting one of the commonly seen birds around us that needs some spaces in our homes. How wonderful is the feeling that our house is not only protecting our families but also providing home to another species. So let's be compassionate towards them. Let's say no to pesticides not only for sparrows but also for our own health. Small matters.

*Polar Bear Day Celebration – DIY Bookmark Craft Activity*

On the occasion of International Polar Bear Day, Saving Dreamz Foundation in association with Indian Biodiversity Conservation Society (IBCS), successfully organized a DIY Bookmark Craft activity and Poster color activity at our study centre.

The session aimed to spread awareness about Polar bears, climate change and the importance of wildlife conservation, while encouraging children to express their creativity.

During the activity, children enthusiastically created beautiful bookmarks using origami papers and colors. Along with this, they also made poster color artworks on sheets provided by IBCS, depicting polar bears and their natural habitat. The activity not only enhanced their creativity but also helped them understand the importance of protecting wildlife and our environment.

We are thankful to Dipali Mam for conducting the session in such a detailed, engaging and well-organized manner. Her guidance helped the children learn new craft techniques while also gaining knowledge about conservation.

Such activities play an important role in nurturing creativity, environmental awareness and responsibility among young minds.

On 12.02.2026, we had an inspiring session at the Zoology Department, Garhbeta College with 60 enthusiastic students eager to explore the fascinating world of birds!

The seminar was graced by the Honourable Principal and the Head of the Department of Zoology.

Abhishek Karak, District Co-ordinator, Paschim Medinipur, Indian Biodiversity Conservation Society (IBCS), as our Key Speaker shared valuable insights on bird diversity and conservation.

Organized by NatFolks in association with IBCS, the event was made even more special with the support of Susmita Chandra, Co-Founder of NatFolks.

*World Whale Day - Drawing Competition*

On the occasion of World Whale Day, Saving Dreamz Foundation successfully conducted a Drawing Competition to spread awareness about marine life and the importance of conserving whales.

The activity was organized in association with Indian Biodiversity Conservation Society and Nagpur Book Club at Panchsheel Night School, Nagpur.

Children enthusiastically participated and created many beautiful and creative whale drawings. Through their artwork, they expressed their imagination, love for marine creatures and understanding of ocean conservation. It was truly inspiring to see their thoughtful representations of these magnificent ocean giants.

To encourage their efforts and creativity, all participants were appreciated and selected winners were honoured with prizes.

Such activities not only nurture artistic talent but also build environmental awareness among young minds. Together, we continue to inspire children to care for nature and protect our biodiversity.
