Seven days in Tbilisi. Two tournaments. Nearly 60 countries at one board!

The opening ceremony set the tone — traditional Georgian songs and dances, a personal welcome from IBF President Umar Kremlev, and an atmosphere that reminded everyone why this game matters.

175 tables, live broadcasts daily, professional commentary in English and Russian, an international refereeing seminar with participants from 10 countries — every detail was taken care of.

The First World Longgammon Championship and Georgian Grand Prix 2026 were more than a tournament. Thank you to every player, referee, and fan who was part of it 🌍🎲 by @ibf_backgammon

“One more game — and then sleep”

A phrase that almost never works for backgammon players
First it’s 10 PM, then “just one rematch”… and after that, it’s better not to check the time.

Between the competitions, the participants of the Asian Grand Prix 2026 went on a tour of Dushanbe, organized by the hosts of the tournament 🇹🇯

It was a great opportunity to take a short break from the tournament, explore the city, experience its atmosphere, and spend some time together outside the playing hall! by @ibf_backgammon
