We are thrilled to announce that Ibi Fiberesima (Fibi) will be speaking at the Blocknauts 1.0 Graduation Ceremony & Projects Showcase.

As a Community Manager and ecosystem builder with over four years of experience across Web3, open source, and emerging technology communities, @fibibakes has spent her career turning strangers into contributors and contributors into thriving ecosystems.

She has facilitated workshops for She Code Africa and spoken at events including Acala Network, WeaveDB Nigeria, Women Techmakers, and FCDC Meetup, Abuja’s largest marketing event. Her contributions to the blockchain space earned her recognition by Web3 Afrika as one of the African women building the future of blockchain.

Hi, I am Ibi Fiberesima (Fibi). 👋🏽

I build ecosystems that people want to belong to.

Over the past four years, I have worked across Web3, open source, AI, and emerging technologies, helping early-stage products grow through thoughtful community strategy, education, creator programs, onboarding, events, and ecosystem development.

My work sits at the intersection of community, product, and adoption.

I enjoy asking questions that most people skip:

Why should anyone care?
Who is this product really for?
What kind of community should exist around it?
How do we turn curiosity into contribution?
How do we build ecosystems people genuinely want to participate in?

Those questions have shaped the way I approach my work.

From redesigning contributor onboarding for GNOME Africa, to building engagement programs for Gruve, supporting DAO operations at VMCC, hosting community conversations via “Community Shenanigans” , and creating educational content that helps simplify emerging technologies, I have consistently focused on making complex products easier to understand and easier to adopt.

Outside my day-to-day work, I write Ecosystem Deep Dives with Fibi, where I analyze blockchain ecosystems, incentive design, developer adoption, and community strategy, with a particular focus on what meaningful adoption could look like across Africa.

Web3 Afrika recognized me as one of the African women building the future of blockchain. I have also facilitated workshops for She Code Africa, WeaveDB Nigeria, and spoken at community events across the African tech ecosystem.

One of the reasons I care deeply about community is because I have seen how access can change the trajectory of a person’s life.

A workshop.
A mentor.
A community.
A single opportunity.

Sometimes that’s all it takes.

So I am particularly excited to be moderating the opening ceremony of the EKA@60 Digital Skills Initiative.

The initiative will support 60 beneficiaries with training in critical digital skills, helping them navigate and thrive in an increasingly digital world.

I believe the future belongs to people who can learn, adapt, and create value with technology. More importantly, I believe everyone deserves access to that future.

Looking forward to facilitating conversations, engaging participants, and helping kick off what promises to be a transformative learning journey for all beneficiaries. by @ibi_fiberesima

Life Lately as a Community Manager….

I have been meaning to post this for a while now.

I recently left my role managing a Builder DAO in the RWA space. It was simply time to move on, and I am at peace with that.

Community management remains my core, it’s the work I am built for and the career I am committed to. But I have been quietly expanding what I bring to the table, and I think it’s worth talking about.

Alongside my community management work, I have been doing exploratory manual testing for apps like Telemedcare, Dualview Recorder, Synsis AI, and currently Onresq.

I recall during my time at Gruve, I was supporting the product team through exploratory testing throughout the platform’s development and growth phase via logging tickets, documenting issues, and feeding structured feedback directly to the team. The work meant enough that even after I left, the CEO reached out to get my eyes on their new build.

At my previous company, I informally live tested three platforms — Atlantus Coin Market, Genesis Key Platform, and the VMCC Builder Dashboard, as they were being built and rolled out.

And here’s the thing, it wasn’t a stretch. A good community manager already thinks like a QA tester. You’re always the voice of the user, spotting what’s broken, what’s confusing, what needs to be better. I just took that instinct and formalised it.

It’s made me a sharper Community Manager. And it means any team I join gets someone who can hold the community and stress-test the product they are building for it.

I am open to community management roles, ideally in tech, web3, or product-led teams where both skills actually get used.

A community event I moderated got featured in Leadership Newspaper.

I won’t lie, I screamed a little.

The Digital Art Exhibition in Abuja was put together by @eleradesignstudio and the incredible team at @stackandhustle.ng , and being invited to moderate it was already an honour. My role was simple, hold the space, guide the conversations, and make sure every person in that room felt seen. That’s the part of community management I live for.

I love to see that the work got its flowers because it’s really something worth talking about. The Abuja creative space is just getting started, and I am glad I got to be part of this moment 🤭
