1. Some people only appear in your sunshine, not in your storm.

2. Some people celebrate your success but disappear when you struggle.

3. Some people love what you have, not who you are.

4. Some people remember you when they need something, not when you need them.

5. Some people want your light but avoid your darkness.

6. Some people clap for your victories but ignore your battles.

7. Some people enjoy your company but won't stand beside you when things get difficult.

8. Some people support your dreams only when they benefit from them.

9. Some people know your achievements but never ask about your sacrifices.

10. Some people love the results but don't care about the journey.

11. Some people call you a friend when life is easy but become strangers when trouble arrives.

12. Some people want to share your blessings but not your burdens.

13. Some people appear when you have something to offer and disappear when you have nothing.

14. Some people will praise your strength without knowing what it cost you.

15. Some people only value your presence when they need your help.

16. Some people stay close for convenience, not connection.

17. Some people are interested in your life but not invested in your well-being.

18. Some people will know your name but never know your struggle.

19. Some people leave during your storm and return when the sun comes out.

20. Some people only appear in your sunshine, not in your storm.

Life Lesson:
Difficult seasons have a way of revealing the difference between genuine relationships and convenient ones. Don't hate people simply because they couldn't stay, but pay attention to who stood beside you when you had nothing to offer. Value the people who remain during your storms, because those who love you when the sun isn't shining are often the ones who truly deserve a place in your life. by @ibnshomar

In the early 1990s, during the devastating famine in Sudan, a haunting photograph shocked the world. It showed a starving little girl, weak and struggling, while a vulture lurked behind her—waiting.

The image was captured by Kevin Carter, a South African photojournalist. The photograph quickly gained global attention and later earned him the prestigious Pulitzer Prize for its powerful storytelling.

But behind the recognition lay a deeper, more troubling story.

As Kevin Carter was being celebrated across major media platforms for his “extraordinary shot,” a question began to follow him everywhere: What happened to the little girl?

During a live interview, a caller asked him directly. Carter replied, “I didn’t wait to find out… I had a flight to catch.”

Then came a response that would haunt him:

> “There were two vultures that day… one of them had a camera.”

Those words struck deeply.

Not long after, Carter fell into depression. The weight of that moment—of witnessing suffering and choosing observation over intervention—lingered in his mind. Just a few months after receiving global recognition, he tragically took his own life.

---

This story forces us to reflect on a difficult truth about humanity.

In a world driven by recognition, success, and personal gain, we sometimes forget the most important responsibility we have—to care for one another. It is possible to capture a powerful moment, yet miss an even greater opportunity: to make a difference.

The question is not just about what happened that day in Sudan—it is about us.

How often do we stand by, watch, record, or even benefit from situations where we could have helped? How often do we prioritize achievement over compassion?

---

Reflection:
Life is not only about what we achieve, but about the lives we touch. In every situation, let humanity come first. Let kindness outweigh ambition. Let compassion guide our actions. Because in the end, the greatest legacy we can leave behind is not what we captured—but who we helped. by @ibnshomar
