POSTS STORIES REELS

Hi, my name is Ibraim.

I don’t often talk about myself here, so these photos felt like a good place to start.

Maybe the best way to describe me is that I’m curious. I’ve always wanted to understand what is beyond the next valley, behind the next mountain, and why people choose to live the way they do.

I was born and raised in Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬, and over the years I’ve spent a big part of my life exploring its remote places. Not because I want to escape reality, but because every journey teaches me something about it.

The mountains have shown me beauty, uncertainty, friendship, responsibility, and sometimes even injury. They constantly remind me how different life can be from the comfort of a city.

Every expedition, every conversation, every mistake and challenge becomes part of the lesson.

And no matter where I am, I try to stay positive and keep moving forward.

Because even when the path is difficult, I usually know why I’m walking it.

If you’re interested in joining similar group expeditions and experiencing Kyrgyzstan beyond the usual tourist routes, you can find upcoming dates and details on my website.

Every month in Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬 is different.
This series shows what the country looks like from January to December so you can decide when it’s right for you to travel.

My personal favorite months: May, June, September, October, and December.
What about you?

Deep in the wild lands of Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬
one rider moves through fields without fences and mountains without roads. The journey reminds you wilderness still exists ✨

Here, time sleeps under the mountains.
The wild hasn’t changed, it still whispers the same stories. And once you feel it, it becomes a part of who you are.

Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬

This is Alaman Ulak, one of Kyrgyzstan’s most intense traditional horseback games.

Thousands of horsemen come together in a fierce competition that demands incredible strength, courage, endurance, and skill.

It’s raw, unpredictable, and dangerous. But beyond the chaos, it’s a centuries-old tradition deeply rooted in Kyrgyz nomadic culture.

A tradition that is still alive today. by @ibraim.explorer

These days, most people travel to relax, escape their routines, and enjoy a little comfort. But sometimes, what we really need is the opposite. A complete factory reset.

We spend so much of our lives surrounded by concrete, screens, and everything humans have built to make life easier. But deep in the wild mountains of Kyrgyzstan, life feels different. You learn to adapt, face challenges, appreciate simple things, and realize how little you actually need to feel alive.

This is what I try to share through my expeditions in Kyrgyzstan. We travel to remote places, spend days on horseback, deal with unpredictable weather, and experience a way of life that’s very different from what most of us are used to.

Sometimes, getting uncomfortable is exactly what we need.

One of my favorite things about leading group expeditions is watching strangers become friends.

People arrive from different countries, with different backgrounds and stories. Over the next 10 days, they share adventures, challenges, laughter, and countless little moments together.

It reminded me that sometimes the most meaningful part of a journey isn’t the places we visit, but the people we share it with.

October in the wild heart of Kyrgyzstan.

Another month of unforgettable adventures, remote places, unpredictable weather, and incredible people who joined me on these journeys.

We live in a world where AI is advancing fast and life is becoming more comfortable and convenient.

But I believe it’s just as important to go in the opposite direction sometimes. To disconnect, have challenges, explore the unknown, and grow through real experiences in the wild.

Because not everything we need to learn can be found behind a screen.

Grateful for every adventure and everyone who shared these moments with me.

A little glimpse of wild Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬 by @ibraim.explorer

This is what the wild side of Kyrgyzstan looks like.

Some parts of the journey are challenging, but that’s exactly what makes reaching these places so special.

For centuries, these mountains were crossed on horseback.
Today, we follow the same ancient trails into the wild heart of Kyrgyzstan.

a little more from our horse trek across the remote eastern region of Kyrgyzstan and what I’ve been valuing a lot in my travels recently!!

Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. As Mr. Bourdain said: be a traveller, not a tourist
