ICA Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Access Committee Mission Statement The International Clarinet Association Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Access Committee will support, advocate, promote and develop the ICA’s commitment to nurturing an environment that celebrates equal opportunity for the members and discourages discriminatory practices and treatment. E claro que não podíamos chegar ao final dessa sequência sem um bom frevo! 🎶💃🇧🇷 Para fechar os registros individuais da nossa apresentação no ClarinetFest 2026, em Incheon, na Coreia do Sul, trazemos “Vassourinhas”, de Matias da Rocha e Joana Batista Ramos, em um arranjo cheio de surpresas do clarinetista @juliao.barbosa. E quando a gente diz surpresas, é porque tem mesmo! 👀 No meio de Vassourinhas, o arranjo ainda passeia por “Fogão” e até por Mozart — tudo em ritmo de frevo! Uma mistura divertida, inesperada e com muita brasilidade. 🇧🇷🎵 E tem espaço para os nossos solistas brilharem também: @_daviid.33 na requinta, @wendelclarinete e @clari.rimel, no clarinete e @gabrieloliveira5878, no clarone. 👏🎶 No palco, uma OPC formada por alunos dos cursos Técnico, Bacharelado, Licenciatura e Mestrado da UFRN, reunidos para viver uma experiência que atravessou fronteiras e que ficará para sempre na história do grupo. Sob a coordenação dos professores @amandybandeira e @jpnatalsopros Foram muitos ensaios, preparativos, música e gente que acreditou nesse projeto. Presenting the Michael Webster Clarinet Studio. Applications are now open for a select group of clarinet players to study with Michael Webster | former Rochester Philharmonic Clarinet in the 2027 OAcademy Global Artist Diploma. @michaelwebsterclarinet —recipient of the International Clarinet Association’s Honorary Membership for Lifetime Achievement at ClarinetFest 2024, recognized in part for his 85 articles “On Teaching Clarinet” published in The Clarinet magazine—former Principal Clarinet of the Rochester Philharmonic and former Acting Principal of the San Francisco Symphony, has taught at Eastman, New England Conservatory, Boston University, and Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, and performed with artists including Joshua Bell, Yo-Yo Ma, the Tokyo and Cleveland String Quartets, at festivals such as Marlboro and Santa Fe. Across six months, four exceptional Fellows develop advanced artistry, career readiness, and a global professional network through personalized mentorship, globally accessible masterclasses, interpretive studies, leadership training, mindset development, portfolio building, communication and entrepreneurship modules, brand development, and in-person residency opportunities designed for the realities of today’s evolving artist careers. Please welcome the amazing Lee Livengood as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Clarinet to the U! Lee brings world class artistry and pedagogy to the @uofuclarinets studio! He has played bass clarinet/clarinet in the @utahsymphony for 25years, served as past-president of the International Clarinet Association, was voted as an Honorary Member of the ICA in 2025, and is a mouthpiece master-craftsman. The ICA is excited to announce a brand new benefit for members, coming very soon! 🥳🥳Introducing the ICA Clarinet Repertoire Database!🥳🥳 This searchable database will be available for members at clarinet.org and will be a living, growing database of music in the clarinet repertoire, complete with the ability to filter by instrumentation, composer, and ensemble, as well as links to where you can obtain the sheet music! This is a teaser for what the search function will look like. It's currently a work in progress and we will be regularly adding new music and content to the search even after the initial launch, as cataloguing ALL the music in the clarinet repertoire is an never-ending task. Please keep an eye out for more details in the coming weeks as we get closer to launching this exciting new project! If you have any questions about the project, please drop them in the comments!
