We are long overdue for the Federal Government to recognize Institutional Child Abuse and assign proper oversight authority Nationwide. When youth become a commodity, it's time for radical change. ⌛️

#StopTheShock campaign raises awareness on the harmful use of electric shock devices at Judge Rotenberg Center. This unscientific practice targets individuals with disabilities. JRC's troubled history and legal concerns have sparked outrage among disability rights advocates. Learn more about what we plan to do to #StopTheShock.

As survivors of totalistic teen treatment programs our experiences carry unique wisdom.

ICAPA's philosophy is simple enough:
Be the hero you needed 🦸🏽‍♀️🦹🏼‍♀️🫂

•We vow to speak truth to power.
•We will not allow the next generation to accept abuse as treatment.
•We DEMAND better for our youth.

Many youth residential programs utilize high control and punishment (fear-based) behavior modification. The methods used to force compliance can be cruel, unethical, and blatant violations of human rights. Use of such negligent procedures often lead to physical abuse, sexual abuse, and psychological trauma.

The use of these methods and the resulting trauma is what we define as institutional abuse.

The fraudulent "troubled teen" industry needs to be abolished and replaced with trauma-informed, evidence-based treatment.

It's time to define the "Troubled Teen" Industry as the fraudulent scam it is.

Annually, thousands of children are legally kidnapped by hired escorts and forcibly taken to behavioral modification programs without consent to treatment.

Forbes estimates that the troubled teen industry is a multi-billion-dollar a year industry. Private tuition to TTI programs typically exceed the annual tuition at Harvard, yet lack any credentialing, licensing, background checks, or training of staff or facility.

Children are transported over the state/ federal lines, which results in claims of abuse not being investigated or prosecuted citing jurisdiction issues. Hundreds of children have died from abuse and suicide while residing in these programs without reform to the industry.

We demand transparency, accountability, and enforceable oversight.

Torture does not equate treatment.

ICAPA Network exposes, opposes, and advocates against the human trafficking atrocities taking place in the "Troubled Teen" Industry.

The “secure escort industry” forcibly traffics children across state lines into abusive, unregulated facilities, exploiting public and private funds.
