Did it the first time just because they said I couldn’t.Doing it again because I can.Even when the ground is shaky, let your feet stay planted. Through obstacles, I will still prevail, and then everyone will know it was God.Oh, for my God, I could write a book. To the gift and purpose that God has given, this gift alone has allowed me to not only realize my calling but also helped me grow in it. From such a quiet, shy, timid, low-esteemed girl to such a strong, confident, outspoken woman without even having to use my words. Dance has genuinely been the thing that God has used to help plant those seeds, and they have sprouted beautifully.- Over 13 years of impacting my community, younger females, and building families and sisterhoods just by dancing.- Mentored and guided over 79 high school girls at three different schools in one semester alone.- Performed for Missy Elliot, Pusha T and Trey Songz- HBCU all-star BOTB in Atlanta Falcons Stadium with 60,000 people- Disneyland’s New Year’s Eve Parade- California’s Rose Bowl parade- Opportunities to dance on World of Dance, making history for HBCU dancelines- Pre-professional basketball Danceline- Over 50 band performances in different states- Traveled to Africa, fully funded, and became an ambassador to help mentor future students.Less than a quarter of God’s promise fulfilled and trust I’m still not done.To thee best band in the land, Dearest Spartan Legion,The family you have given me, I will never take for granted. The way everyone stepped in with immense support when I needed it. The way we all have each other’s backs. The support we give that goes beyond band. Dear Hot Ice, Coming in I was shy, timid and extremely overwhelmed, I will never forget my first band camp, lol. I want to thank you for the many memorable experiences I had these past three years and for helping shape me into the woman I am today. The most memorable of part of it all was being blessed with my amazing sisters. Y’all have pushed me, challenged me, and been there for me in ways I didn’t know I needed. I will forever cherish the memories we’ve shared whether it was spending extra time after practice working on that field 😭, late night drives, or even laughing just because, I love y’all dearly.
