I won’t promise any quick changes to your relationship with politics, the socio-political climate in general, guaranteed trigger-free conversations, consistent energy given to your cause, or even regular Let’s Talk Politics events. But I can try!

I see plenty of high-level, specialized conversations happening within different groups, but not many general meetups to discuss the current political climate. Fear of cancel culture seems to be big right now, and I’m hoping these events can help ease some of that. I’m also not against specialization—I think a functional society needs both specialists and people with a solid general understanding of what’s happening.

A lot of the emotional weight of disagreements can be lightened by interacting with reasonable people who hold different perspectives. We often project malevolence onto ignorance. That said, we also shouldn’t be naive in thinking everyone has our best interests at heart and is simply uninformed. From a certain meta perspective, one could argue that even the darkest aspects of humanity stem from ignorance—but I’ll continue.

With all the community events I host on campus, my goal is to provide more positive outlets for people to channel their energy into. Sex is a big energy dump in society right now—it just is what it is. I’m not here to judge it. But for those who want to channel more of their energy into the common good, this could be an option.

Whether it’s learning joint mobility or becoming more informed about politics, the act of showing up to community events trains the brain to start caring about these things more than the entertainment matrix. It’s much easier to objectify people and trivialize their experiences behind a screen.

Again: I’m not here to judge the entertainment matrix—it just is what it is. I happen to be in a season of strong community prioritization right now. Whoever wants to come along is welcome. And for those who don’t—enjoy your entertainment, genuinely! by @icebathbrla

1. Comfortable Clothing
Wear loose, breathable clothing that allows for easy movement during CARs (Controlled Articular Rotations) and breathwork.
2. Additional Pair of Long Sleeve Shirt and Pants
If we’re practicing outdoors, an extra layer of long sleeves and pants can help protect against grass and critters.
3. Yoga Mat or Blanket
If you have a yoga mat, bring it for comfort during breathwork and meditation. If you don’t, a blanket or towel works just as well!
4. Yoga Block
A yoga block can help with support and stability during certain exercises and poses.
5. Water Bottle
Stay hydrated! Make sure to bring water to keep yourself refreshed throughout the session.
