Let’s talk wedding cake!

I had such a wonderful time being part of The Vendor Series, joining an incredible group of wedding professionals for some honest conversations about what really goes into creating a wedding day.

For my conversation, we’re talking all things wedding cake — how much cake you actually need, things couples may not think to ask, and a little behind-the-scenes insight from the cake artist’s side of the wedding industry.

One of my favourite things about this series is getting to hear the same kind of practical, honest advice from professionals across every part of a wedding — planning, photography, florals, beauty, film, content and more.

Pokémon, but make it cake. 💙💛

This one was so much fun to design for Jacob's 6th birthday — complete with some favourite Pokémon, Poké Balls, grassy details and lots of colour.

One of the things I'm so grateful for as Iced Cake Boutique continues to grow is having talented people on my team who can help bring these designs to life. This beauty was created by the incredibly talented @anastasiia.cf as part of the Iced Cake Boutique team. ✨

Proof that vegan + gluten-free can still look this good. 🤍🍓

These little pavlovas were created for an event this past summer where we needed something beautiful that everyone could enjoy — delicate egg-free meringue nests finished with fruit, coconut and fresh strawberry.

I love creating dietary-friendly desserts that don't feel like the “alternative” option. They should be just as beautiful, delicious and worthy of a place on the dessert table.

Vegan + gluten-free.

Not everything has to be cake. 🍒

A creamy cheesecake finished with dark cherry compote, swirls of whipped vanilla bean ganache, dark chocolate and just a little touch of gold.

Cheesecakes are one of those desserts I don't show nearly enough around here — but they're absolutely available for celebrations, dessert tables, or for anyone who simply believes cheesecake is the celebration.

A little then & now. 🤍

Last summer I had the pleasure of creating this wedding cake for the sweetest peach orchard wedding. 🍑🌸

One year later, I got to revisit those beautiful colours and florals for their complimentary first anniversary cake.

I love that the anniversary cake isn't an exact copy of the original — just a little nod back to their wedding day, made especially for the two of them to enjoy together.

There are some cakes that make you stop and smile once they are finished.

This is one of them.

Five feet long, covered in hand-applied wafer paper for all of that soft texture and finish, and finished on-site with fresh florals, thanks to @moooi_fleur

One of the greatest compliments is being invited back for another milestone. 🤍

Last year, I had the honour of creating this family's wedding cake. This year, I was asked to create their baby shower cake as they prepare to welcome their little one.

Moments like these are why I love what I do. Being trusted to celebrate life's biggest milestones—from "I do" to "Oh Baby"—is something I'll never take for granted.

This soft, nature-inspired design was finished in dairy-free lemon raspberry cake with delicate buttercream details, handcrafted gumpaste petals, and touches of gold for an elegant celebration.
