🎬 PROGRAMMER'S PICKS: Céline Roustan
After joining ShortFest in 2018, Céline now serves as Co-Director of Programming. A senior writer and curator for Short of the Week, her programming experience spans SXSW Film & TV, TIFF Short Cuts, IDFA, and the Short Film Competition of the Festival de Cannes. She also coordinates the SFC | Rendez-vous Industry event, leads acquisitions at OUAT Media, and regularly mentors filmmakers through the Doha Film Institute.

📺 Céline’s latest obsession goes to Rodrigo Sorogoyen’s series ‘Los Años Nuevos’, available on Arte (@arte.tv). Each episode takes place on New Year’s Eve — one per year — over the course of ten years, following the characters from 2015 to 2024. This original time-capsule structure allows to reveal how their lives, doubts, hopes and situation evolve over time.

🏛️ Cult of the day brings us to Lafayette Anticipations (@lafayetteanticipations), in Paris, for a sensory and physical experience in which the visitors are invited to wander, to listen and to find their place within the collective vibration.
With ‘Sole Crushing’, Meriem Bennani (@meriembennani) examines the dynamics between the individual and the collective: each flip-flop represents one person, but together they create a shared rhythm — a metaphor for the crowd, collective utopia, unity, or even uprising.
