The first half of the 2026 fire season has been quite the ride. Once again there are life changes and lessons learned and I am happy for all of them in the end. I have reconnected with my fire career in a way that makes me excited for what my future in it brings.

When I first started I was a starry eyed young lad wanting to do good and make money. Charging into the hills and catching spots and digging line. Sleeping in the dirt with late nights and early morning with only 4hrs of sleep or less was the norm. Now I'm 8 years in and my love for the job has fluctuated but has always returned. My passion is back once again and it burns deeply. I'm happy to be back for another season. The effort and time I've put in to reach the position I have is not something I take for granted and will continue to learn and grow both as a firefighter and as a person. Thank you @coffinclubpdx for reopening the crypt.

One of my favorite venues is back and better then ever. It was nice to crawl my way back into the depths of PDX's best goth club. The music, lighting, atmosphere, drinks, and people are beyond compare. Thank you for being a safe place for my little black heart to come back from the dead 🫦.

The clown picnic was exactly what I needed. To run juggle, smile big, commiserate, laugh, handstand, make balloon animals, wrestle, honk, squeak, play, and frolic with other other bubbly lovely people. Another portion of me has been healed by the community. Its was really nice to meet the people behind the clowns, I got to meet a couple of you that I've only ever know online! That was a massive heartwarming surprise🥰

Thank you @dablicious_710 and @king.balance.hinz for these amazing photos and chronicling this event so we can look back fondly on it.

Thank you @theaprilfools @clownshavemorefun @orderofthehighclowncil for putting this on and promoting this clown picnic. I eagerly await the next one.

How strange is it to be anything at all, especially a clown! If you told me a year ago if I would be a clownsistant in a clown drag pageant for one of my best friends I would have looked at you with a slightly tilted head. But here I am doing just that. It was an honor to serve @princexputa with their costume changes. It was also wonderful to be surrounded by the glitz and glam of other wonderful performers at the @fungeonpdx Clown pageant.

Each year goes by after coming out and each year is another year of discovery and play. Turns out I like being a clown and making people smile and laugh! Who knew... I did :) but I didn't think I would do it as an actual clown! Perhaps next year I take my shot at the clown crown🤡
