I painted this series a few months ago (acrylic on wood). The sketches for it were all created by a lake in France. In total, the series consists of eight paintings. At first, I painted in my apartment, but the brightest light was in the bathroom. So, in the evenings, I placed the painting in the bathtub and painted right there—much to the detriment of my back. But soon, I started taking the paintings outside to work on them. And that was a game-changer. Birds were chirping, I could feel the wind, and the light was perfect. I love painting on wood: the surface is natural and sturdy, and I can sand the corners. In these pieces, figures appear on calm, clearly defined planes that resemble islands, offering both grounding and separation. Into this structure enters the animal as an unexpected visitor. Its presence marks a moment in which control begins to fracture, drawing the human figure out of isolation and solitude. #iconeo #artgallery #illustrationart #artistslife #art by @iconeo
