Voter suppression affects 30 million Americans every year.

This Election, if you are being suppressed or have been in the past, post to Instagram with the ‘I COULDN’T VOTE’ sticker. Just search “I COULDN’T VOTE” on Instagram stories to find them.

Now that we’ve hijacked the ultimate symbol of democracy, the ‘I Voted Sticker’, anyone who is being or has been suppressed can make their voice heard and fight back against this threat to democracy.

Good morning, USA! As you head to the polls, here’s some more info to embolden your efforts.

At least nine states have new restrictive ballot collection laws in place this year. These laws target groups that have a difficult time getting to the polls, such as low-income voters, voters in remote areas or those with disabilities.

If you’ve been affected by this issue, DM us and make your voice heard by posting today with an I Couldn’t Vote sticker, available via Instagram stories or on our website for free. Link in bio.

Patrick is from Houston, Texas. The state that’s home to some of the most egregious anti-voter laws, many of which have been passed since 2020.

As of this fall, Texas has imposed new restrictions on mail-in voting, banned 24-hour voting, and introduced criminal penalties for certain voting activities like assisting voters.

After if all that wasn’t enough, the following reasons are no longer sufficient to vote early by mail in Texas: a lack of transportation; sickness that does not prevent the voter from appearing at the polling place on Election Day without a likelihood of needing personal assistance or of injuring the voter’s health.

If you’ve been suppressed, order free stickers at the link in bio AND post on Election Day with the I Couldn’t Vote sticker, available on Stories. Tag @icouldntvote

“I voted on the primaries and I didn’t change addresses or anything but when I tried to vote in November I was told I had been removed from the voter roll. It was so frustrating.” - @pythian

Swipe right to hear their take. 👉🏼

We are hearing more and more stories about people not being able to vote because of roll purges and extremely convoluted and flawed vote by mail processes.

If this happened to you, please share your story and help us fight back against voter suppression.

“My vote was taken away, I found out while at the polls. How would that make any American voter feel ?” - @stoic_reem

Were you purged from your voter roll and never notified? DM us, we’d love to hear your story.

And more from the news today:

“In Alabama, the pre-election purge program was relying in part on state Department of Labor forms where a person checked a box indicating his or her citizenship status. Additional inquiry found that 93.8% of those whose form indicated noncitizenship had documents in government files confirming their citizenship, illustrating that confusing form design can cause people to make paperwork mistakes.”
