A year ago, AI cost me 40% of my revenue. Some of my clients replaced me with an AI avatar company. Built an entire campaign around it. No photographer needed. I had a choice: love it, leave it, or change. I chose to evolve. — Built a recognizable visual language for every brand I touch — Became a director, DOP, editor, and colorist — Leaned into what AI can never replace: real, authentic, human storytelling AI can generate images. But it cannot generate truth. That’s our edge. Authenticity is the new luxury. The question isn’t whether AI changed our industry. It already has. I’m realizing that this mindset is part of building anything successful… a business, a creative career, a project, even a personal brand. You can be incredibly talented, passionate, generous, and good at what you do… but if you don’t know how to communicate your value, set boundaries, and receive without guilt, you’ll eventually find yourself giving more than you’re building. Success isn’t only about learning how to make more. It’s also learning how to value what you bring to the table. Because the way you price your work, protect your time, and allow yourself to receive is part of the foundation you’re building.
