When I first arrived in Charlotte, @marimatamorosstudio was one of the first people to welcome and support me in the arts community. Leeko @workbylee has also been so many firsts and also an incredible friend, continually reminding me, and so many other artists, that we belong here.

The Hands Project beautifully demonstrates the impact we can have when we come together as creatives. Throughout the Carolinas artists collaboratively build a stronger creative community.

Thank you, Lee, for your hard work, friendship, and incredible vision. I’m so excited and grateful to be part of The Hands Project and to have my hand represented alongside this amazing community. ❤️🎨🤲🏾 by @ida.mae

I have just completed a new series of work. They will be going to a local gallery in Charlotte. Look forward to sharing these pieces with the community and growing in my practice as a venture into the world of abstraction. by @ida.mae

“The weather is cold, but the aura is warm.”

Wishing you all warmth and comfort as the snow falls and the world slows down. May you find a gentle refuge in a hot drink, a soft blanket, a quiet moment of peace.

This painting found its forever home at the 2025 Hunnid Art Fair. To the collector who chose it: thank you. I would be so honored to see how you live with this piece and how it settles into your space and your story.

And to every one of you who support my creative journey: my deepest gratitude. Your belief is the steady flame that encourages me to keep creating. It is a profound reminder that painting remains a vital, breathing language in contemporary art.

Stay cozy, stay inspired.

I am honored to share that my artwork has been selected for publication in the 2026 issue of the North Carolina Literary Review (NCLR), featuring the theme "Military Writing in North Carolina."

This special issue explores the universal emotions of war, service, resilience, memory, and human connection through literature and visual art. I am proud to have my work included alongside the writings of acclaimed authors, poets, scholars, veterans, and artists from across North Carolina.

Thank you to the editors, contributors, and supporters of NCLR for creating space for meaningful stories and creative voices.

Congratulations to all of the writers, artists, and veterans whose work appears in this remarkable issue. I look forward to sharing more when the publication is released this summer.

My Winter class for Central Piedmont community college always gives me the opportunity to learn and grow and make friends. Teaching watercolor has helped me to grow so much as a professional, but there’s something magical and meditative about it. I do love this life. ❤️ by @ida.mae
